Topic: Is This Normal- light Bleed (TMI) Posted: 23 February 2009 at 7:16am |
Hi Ladies just wondering whether the following is normal. Man this being pregnant is soooo stressful. Last night DH and I decided to BD and I have woken up this morning and notice I have a light bleed. It is very light pinky colour and obviously mixed in with you know what. I have no cramping at all, and the spotting bleeding would be too late for implantation. Has anyone else had the same after BD! I'll be taking it easy today anyway as have a long drive to Tauranga this arvo.
I'm trying not to get tooo stressed but I think we all know what its like to dam well worry grrrrr

Yeah, its fairly normal. I had this about 5 weeks, stressed out and went to after hours but they said it was fine to have some light bleeding. They said it could be implantation bleeding.

HI CuriousG, it's just one of those moments I hope, just had a lovely shower and I think it's stopped it may have just been in there with you know what. It's so hard not to worry about every little thing, and I'm a worrier anyway lol.
Thanks

Welcome to the world of parenting. It started 4 weeks and 3 days ago for you and trust me, it only gets more stressful. (But its so worth it!)

Hey Asicsgal, didnt want to read and run.
I had spotting at about 6-7weeks so a bit further along, was brown/pink tinged cm. My M/W said that it is normal to get some spotting around the time of your period and since i ahve a 45 day cycle that seems to work for me.
Also have heard on here about girls having spotting after special cuddles cos i think it irratates your cervix or something.
I would go to the doctors tho, tho they may just say tis a wait and see job. they may measure your HCG's which are your preggy hormones to see if they are rising, its a little stressful but is a peice of mind too.
Anway big 's to you and i know how stressful this preggy thing is, i worry about something nearly every day!

Yep I think special cuddles can definately make you bleed lightly in early (and I think very late?) pg. Also, you might get a break through bleed about the time your period is due (like now!). I bleed dark brown consistently on and off right through until about 10 weeks with this pg.....it was horrible and very very disconcerting. I didn't have cramps with it though, which was a good thing as bleeding with cramps is generally not a great sign.
No offence, but you generally can't miss it if you're having an early m/c..... the cramps are quite full on and bleeding is too. I pray this is not the case for you and that your BD last night just aggravated a tender cervix
Let us know how you get on and good luck.

Ohh thanks you guys for support and answers. I am still bleeding at this stage (sorry TMI it is light red now). Still no horrible cramps but feeling a little heavy down there but I've been feeling a little like that anyway with stretching pains etc.
I'm away in Tauranga at the mo back to the naki tomorrow and we have a big work thing on tomorrow so as you can imagine it's the last thing I want to be doing. I think I will definately push the doctors for an appointment wednesday to check hcg levels. At least I will have a starting point then as they havnt been taken before now, and atleast I can find out what is happening so I can just get on with it.
Emmecat, no offence taken re M/C and obviously it is something that you really know when it is happening, and I really appreciate your comments.
It is so awesome to have your guys support on here re questions and just general 'supportive hugs' etc. I don't know what I'd do without it. Thanks for being there

Asics- this is so stressful for you, if you can possibly push to see a Dr before you go away that might give you some piece of mind? Although I know how hard it is to sometimes fit in with work etc! Urgh those first few weeks of pg are awful, so stressful lol (well I found them stressful anyway cos I didn't know what I was meant to be feeling! )
Heaps of the pg ladies on here have had bleeds at various times throughout their pg's, and gone on to have healthy bubbas; sometimes I think esp in the first trimester it's bubs settling in and burrowing nice and deep. I would stay away from special cuddles from now on if I was you though lol
I hope this morning has found you feeling ok and that the bleeding has stopped. Good luck!

asicsgal - Hope everything is alright!!! you poor thing. I know its hard with work but you have to look after number 1 (&2!). I would go to docs for piece of mind.
I had a missed mc last year, no bleeding at all but did have stomach cramps, and didn't find out until what I thought was 12 week scan, when it actually happened bout 9weeks, so not all mc are straight forward :(
Not want you want to hear or go through, but my point is everyone is different and our bodies react in different ways... am thinking of you of you, hope is all ok

Hi ladies, it does sound like all M/C may be different, sounds like you guys have been through your hardships to, I know what you are saying about not feeling preggy emmecat, this may sound weird but I've had really really sore boobs, now they arn't sore anymore.
I've made an appointment for tomorrow morning so hopefully will make some steps to knowing what is going on. Still had the bleeding today but not so bad. I can't imagine what you guys have gone through with your m/c, and thanks for your advice and knowledge, yeaah for you guys now though, not too long to go now till you have those gorgeous bubba's in your arms. I'll give you an update tomorrow (God sounds like a tv broadcast). Yes Emmecat I think I will stay away from special cuddles for a while LOL (if all is well) otherwise I'll be back on the TTC wagon. Thanks again girls, I really appreciate your support.

Hi asicsgal I was one of those ladies that had lots of bleeding early on. Started at 4 weeks (right after I poas and got bfp I wiped and had pinkish stuff) and continued up until 16 weeks. A combination of on/off spotting, period like bleeding and gushing bleeds. Brown/pink/red you name it!!! Even had cramps on/off up until 7ish weeks. But after countless trips to the Drs/A&E/hospital/medlabs/ultrasound departments all turned out okay and I have wee Emily to show for it. No one knew why it happened, we even avoided special cuddles on the Dr's orders but the bleeding still happened. I know how worrying it can be. Make sure your visit to the Drs tomorrow is followed by blood tests to check hcg levels - that's really about all they can do for now at this early stage. And I'm sure your levels will come back showing things are just fine and that you have nothing to worry about. I'm still hanging around the TWW but hopefully I'll be getting my BFP in a few days time and before you know it we'll be chatting to each other in the due Nov thread

OH Awesome Trude and Em I really hope you get that BFP.!!!! Sounds like things were very full for you too which is reassuring for me (obviously not nice for you though and don't mean it in a bad way) because obviously somebody else has had weird things going on to and everything turned out ok for you. You know I should have figured I would have all the weirdest symptoms in the book as nothing about my body is normal LOL!! I think with the TTC we become so in tune with our body and our brains register every twinge so when pregnancy happens you wonder if that cramp is normal etc etc. I really applaude all woman out there who have gone before me, it really is such a miracle creating a life. Thanks for sharing Trude & Em & look forward to seeing your BFP this month

Really sorry to hear that Asicsgal, I was hoping it wouldn't be that for you.
Good luck with the next round of TTC and good for you for being so positive about it....that sort of attitude will pay off, I'm sure
