I am currently living in Italy and desperately trying to find a good and AVAILABLE midwife. Its proving to be quite a task.

I return to NZ mid may and am due 26th July so it doesnt leave a lot of time.

can anyone point me in the right direction or recommend someone. Of course I dont want to be up at midnight calling everyone in wellington !!

Many thanks in advance

It depends on what area of Wellington you plan to move back to, because a lot of midwives only service certain areas.

Check out http://www.wellingtonmidwives.com/

I was through Domino Midwives for my first pregnancy and birth and can't speak highly enough of them.  http://www.wellingtonmidwives.com/domino/

This time I'm with Birth Options who are also good http://www.wellingtonmidwives.com/

Both groups are very into natural birth.

It depends where you'll be living and what kind of birth your after. My DH's Mum is a MW in Wellington. Shes all about natural birth and pregnancy. Shes a very funky and relaxed lady and a fantastic midwife. If you want her details PM me and I'll get her number for you.
