I have been trying to get Livvy from formula onto cows milk but am struggling to get her to drink it. I've tried warming it, putting it in a different cup, putting it in her bottle, drinking it myself and then trying to give her some and she just will not drink it.

She pulled back at the taste of it initially, now she just sees the white drink or smells it and pushes the cup away.

Has anyone else had trouble getting their little ones onto cows milk and how did you do it in the end?

What about mixing some cow's milk with her formula so she could gradually get more used to the taste & smell?

Luckily I have had no trouble getting Liam to drink cow's milk. He loves it

I used to make up 100 mls of formula and then add cows milk to make up to whatever she drinks usually.

DS did this for about a week and then I cut down to 50 mls and now he is on full cows milk and won't take formula at all as tried the other day when we ran out of milk.

Good Luck.

I had the same problem. It didn't matter what I did (mixing it together, pretending I was having it, putting flavouring in it, anything!) she wouldn't and still won't drink it.

I gave up. She gets a lot of calcuim in other ways and maybe, if you have no luck, up the amount of yoghurts and cheese she has.

Good luck!

Daniel doesn't love the taste of cows milk but will drink it if nothing else is offered. We got him used to it by giving it on cearel and whatever was left I'd spoon in his mouth

I've tried the cereal (just ricies and milk with a bit fo fruit) and she won't have a bar of that either.

I might try mixing it with her formula then. Most new things she's quite good with but as soon as she sees the milk she pushes it away.

She's a bit hard to get yoghurts and cheese into as well so I really want her to have the milk.

She might have a dairy allergy? I can not stand the taste of milk & have always been like that. Dairy products give me asthma.

I would try mixing it or putting a little vanilla essence in it to change the taste. But she might just not like it, if she eats cheese and yoghurt etc she will be fine without cows milk.
You might want to watch for other reactions as well just in case there is an intolerance.
Good luck!

She hasn't shown any obvious signs of an allergy or intolerance so I'm guessing she just doesn't like the taste of it.

I'll try mixing it in with her formula and see if she's okay with that.

I don't like dairy either so maybe she's inheritted my taste in food
