Topic: 15mth Jabs - side effects Posted: 29 January 2009 at 8:53am |
Firstly - I dont want to start a vaccination debate here, I just wanted to ask if anyone else has had a similar experience to see whether I am imagining things or not?!
Oli had his 15mth jabs last monday (MMR & Hib), and now he has tonsilitis. It could be a co-incidence (and prob is), but his general health had been really good all through summer and right up until we got the jabs. He has never reacted to any of his others, expect for the normal big sleep after them!
I dont know - I just wondered if anyone elses bubbas had got sick after their 15mths jabs?

Gabrielle just had hers yesterday so fingers crossed for no bad side effects! The nurse said that it can take up to ten days for symptoms to appear and wear off with these jabs.

These were Madisons best jabs to date. She didnt have any side effects at all. All her other jabs she has had a slight fever.
I hope he gets over his tonsilitis quickly.

We didnt have any issues. He got a rash about a week after the jabs but that was expected

Interestingly I rang the nurse at our GPs to ask about it, and she said she that if he was going to have any effects they would have showed up earlier than this. I am still not convinced that they arent connected, he has bad skin (little rashes and blemishes ) on his face, and I am sure thats related to his jabs.

The rash probably is because of the measles part of the jab

We had no problems, but the nurse said she could come out in a measles rash 4 days later. She said this would be a good thing as it meant the vaccine was working well
I wouldn't think the tonsillitis would be connected, but possibly the rash is.

I would wonder if his immune system is so overloaded with trying to make immunity to the diseases that he got tonsilitis? If that makes sense, Not a bad thing cause it means his system is working, just unfortunate.
Hope he feels better soon

another possibility is that the trip to the doctors clinic with all the germy people meant he picked it up there when he got the jabs? Hope he's doing better soon.
