Topic: Clicking in belly Posted: 27 January 2009 at 9:04pm |
Very weird thing to post - but has anyone else experienced a clicking coming from their belly? I have been noticing this for the last few weeks - quite a sharp click noise - usually when bubs is moving around... Haven't asked my midwife yet, but will at next vist.
Any ideas about what might be causing it?

Could it be your pelvis?

Yep have had it but not too much, could be air bubbles, bone or joint crackles (like we get sometimes) not sure but it sounds quite bizzare but its a noise from inside where baby is not a "my body" noise

Not hiccups and not pelvis - definitely sounds like clicking coming from the baby... very weird
kezplanet, that sounds the same - it doesn't seem to be my body

mine was definitly from caden, it was almost like someone flicking their finger nail, very weird.
But caden has very clicky arms and legs now, so it was probablu him bones clicking.

Did you find anything out from your midwife yet Bel?
(Sorry - don't mean to 'stalk' but I am intrigued by this one)

I get that. Always in the spot where he moves next. I also often get it when lying on my side and he is pushing against the side of my belly. I thought that maybe he just pushes against something a certain way that makes the noise, cause for me it is more like a popping noise.

I had this with Lilia. I think it was her joints clicking when she moved - she's quite a clicky baby too.
Lol Sheza, I was relieved when my DH finally heard it, I thought I was hearing things

I've done a bit of looking around for this topic and there is not firm answer. Some MW's put it down to baby's ligaments and some doctors put it down to your ligaments stretching but sounding like it's coming from bubs. Only seems to happen from 30 weeks onwards (with the odd exception).
