Topic: am i the only one?? Posted: 17 July 2006 at 11:20am |
does anyone else find it hard to just be bothered doing anything during the day? I know i'm not depressed, i've just gotten increasingly more slack at doing things like tidying up the kitchen after breakfast. i still do it of course, however the urgency isn't there. Even things like going for walks are on the back burner, like it's easier to just do nothing. Anyway, felt like just having a blab about it...

Yep me too! I write little lists of stuff to do each day to motivate me,..but they are getting shorter too, so I still feel like Ive done stuff,..and dont have a huge list with nothing crossed off at the end of the day!

lolol i used to do the list thing and pout every little thin gon it - so that at least something would be corssed off - but now i just do a list that needs to have been done by the end of the week - and it's a whole house list - which means that if Mike happens to walk past and spy anything that maybe he could do (which better be a few things!) then he does those and ticks them off - which kinda motivates me cos he does a heap round here and i hate feeling like i'm doing nothing. especially cos my kids go to daycare for at least half days when i am not at uni.
my excuse is that i'm studying right now - reallyi am, but noticing every little thing that isn't done around our house - (so our house is really quite clean right now)
but i used to have days/weeks like that. winter sucks cos there's no motivation and it's so much nicer to just cuddle up and do nothing.

I'm having one of those days today... I'm dressed, but I haven't had a shower yet... there's unpacking and washing to sort out from our holiday, but Kiya's home sick, Josiah's just about better, and I've got a nasty cold.
I can't be bothered doing anything today, so I'm spending too much time here instead!

Ok, now it sounds like everyone hates doing housework (there is a thread in general chat), and no one has any energy to do anything. Well that is fantastic because now I know I am not the only one, I feel much better and am going to sit here on my fat ass for another 10 mins rather than folding the washing, and I'm not going to feel guilty!!! Thanks guys!!

LOL I have to do something now... Josiah has just brought me the bag of nappies - and there's a suspicious smell in the air!

i'm so glad i'm not the only one! lack of enthusiasm to do anything is something i have alot of at the moment! the house is usually tidy, but definately not clean. we have a golden retriever and he's an inside dog.....i really do need to vacuum at least every other day, but once a week is ok..right?
my midwife always has me up about exercise, yes, i will start soon.....arghhhhh the laziness!!!

lol Becca - ayja does that - she now crawls over to the nappy shelf, gets a nappy, lies on her back with legs up in the air and pats the nappy near her bottom until i go to change her. funny weird kid

I had a day like that today - no motivation, spent all afternoon in bed with a book trying to rest while Maya was at preschool.
Gotta love that the cleaner is coming tomorrow tho!

Whenever I get home after an outing (whether 11am or 7pm) I get changed back into my fleece pyjama pants and dressing gown straight away. Sad sad sad!!! Everyone knows I live in it now
Haven't done any decent house work for about a month but have got a job for tomorrow - tidying up the plastic cupboard! It's a freaking mess! (Mind you, it's been on my list for about a week now. Damnit.)
We'll see how motivated I am tomorrow

Lol Nikki, cleaning out the plastics drawers has been on my list for about 4 weeks now!
I made an enormous list back then of things to do over the 8 weeks till due date and that was one of the littlest jobs on it and yet, I still can't bring myself to do it!

I have dishes from last night still to do. The washing from I can't remember when still to fold. The floors haven't had a proper clean in at least a week. I am so tired at the moment. I can't believe I managed to work fulltime when I was pregnant with Andrew, i'm so glad i'm not now. I have mid arvo sleeps just so I can be awake with DH at night. I didn't get my sleep yesterday and was in bed at 7.30 asleep at 8am, missed Desprate Housewifes (so angry) and woke up half way through Grey's (even more angry as I so wanted to watch the catch up). I've had a small nap today so it should be enought to get me through today. But the housework will still sit there as I can not be bothered doing that. My god I sound lazy, i'm not just pregnant.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

up until sunday i had 2 baskets of washing that had sat in the laundry ready to be folded for about 3 weeks - we just fished out the clothes we wanted, and when ever i did new washing the new stuff just went on top of it... oh and have a mountain of towels to wash, i am managing to control it so it doesnt get any bigger, but it aint getting any smaller either!
and as for the rest..... cant wait for the nesting urge to hit so i can do some proper housework :)
