Hi Muma,
My 6yr DD had this a couple of months ago. For a day was really hot to touch and her fever kept getting higher but to no more than 39.6. Nothing was breaking the fever. I called healthline and because she was eating ok and drinking ok, nothing hurt etc they said to just monitor her. The nurse also asked about how many times she had gone wees while I was giving her all the water - which turned out to be hardly at all! Still watched her and finally the next day it came down, although she was still quite hot to touch.
Two days later, she woke with slightly puffy eyes which I then took her to the doctor and after a pee test and blood pressure, it turns out she may have had a small kidney infection. Wasn't 100% confirmed but may have been as it all aligned. Took her back 5 days later for repeat test and she was fine. Apparently just a fever is the bodies way of fighting a mild infection somewhere. You'll know when to take her back to the doc if needed.
I hope she will be ok.
