Hi everyone! I have just been reading through some of the topics and thought I might throw my hat in the ring. I have actually been trying, hard as it may be, to stay off the internet and not read things (we all know how mad that can drive you), but I'm going to need a bit more support in the upcoming weeks and so I thought why not. Here is my story so far - believe it or not, this is the short version...

I’m 29, DH 30, together for 10 years, married 3 as of next week. Diagnosed with PCOS in 2012, and started TTC naturally early-ish 2013 to no avail.

Started with Fertility Associates (privately as we wanted to get the ball rolling) early 2014 on low dose Clomid, and had absolutely no response. Upped the dose, had a nice follicle growing well, did a trigger, did everything we were supposed to, then a blood test to check I ovulated….Nothing. It was a crushing blow as I had been so happy that my body was finally doing what it supposed to that I think I let myself get ahead of myself.

Then to make things more interesting, DH gets offered a job overseas for 3-4 years. Leaving in 8 weeks. So based on my poor reaction to the Clomid and the fact we no longer had time on our side with DH's departure suddenly looming, we moved on to IVF. Private again ($ouch).

Did all the drugs, felt like a pin cushion, as well as sore, bloated and tired, and went into my first scan with low expectations. It showed that apparently there was 'a lot going on'.

At the specialist's suggestion I opted to be completely sedated for egg collection. 35 eggs collected. Because of this they decided to freeze any embryos and do a FET later (told to me at the time this would be around 6 weeks) because of the risk of OHSS. We ended up with 16 fertilised (without ICSI) and 9 made it to Day 5 blastocyst and were frozen.

Appointment today showed that I am doing well, AF is here and I have no fluid or anything to suggest OHSS. The great news is that I can now do a transfer this month instead of having to wait for the next, but sadly DH flies out 2 days before the FET, but oh well, we will manage.

So yes, that’s me! Starting the pills and the ‘messaries’ and looking down the barrel of a FET in a couple weeks on my own – exciting but scary.

For those of you wondering, the ‘plan’ is for DH to go over, me to stay here and try one FET. If I am blessed with a BFP, then I will most likely stay in NZ til 7 weeks and then go over. If I end up with a BFN then I will probably pack up and head over to join him, have a break, then do another FET when we come back over for Christmas.

Sorry for the essay

Hi!
Sounds like a full on start to the year! I did ivf in jan - reacted very well like you and collected 26 eggs. Super painful so little wonder they put you out! They made me take the 2 cycles after off to let me body get back to normal and I'll be doing fet in the next couple weeks too. Just waiting for AF to arrive. My dh is away working at the moment too so it'll just be me and myself going to transfer.
Anywho all the best and am happy to chat if you need :) there's a 12mths plus thread too which is quite active and a lot of the girls have been through / going through similar treatment.
TTC since Oct 2009
4 x DI's failed
IVF1 CP & MC
IVF2 CP
IVF3 Angel baby born 22.3wks
