For the last few days Blake has had red marks on his legs, like a ring but only on the front of his thighs and also has had redness and small spots on his lower tummy (where the top of the nappy sits) We're using ittis during the day and Foxybots at night and it really only happens during the day. I would normally think the leg marks would be caused by too tight elastic but they appear about 1-2cm below where the elastic is. I've tried doing them up looser but it still happens and he ends up leaking Anyone experience anything like this? It doesn't seem to bother him that I can tell but I'm sure it must be at least uncomfortable if not painful Is this nappy rash or heat rash or could it possibly be a reaction to something? Please tell me it's not my ittis cos I love them!

JJ occasionally gets this, and I've decided it's a heat rash. It goes away if I leave him without his nappy for 10 minutes or so. It's only a PITA when he scratches at it with his sharp little claws.

That said, I suppose it could be a reaction to laundry detergent - which do you use?   AFAIK it's unlikely to be nappy rash in those areas (not that I'm an expert as we've never really had any nappy rash here touch wood).

We use ecostore, always have. We've never really had nappy rash either, I didn't think it was because it's in an area that's not covered with nappy but I just didn't know what else it could be. The only other thing I can think of is that we've recently been using an exersaucer that a friend lent us so maybe that's causing the marks on his legs? I just hate to think that we may be doing something that's causing it

E has recently got this and I think his is heat rash as until today he was on super restricted diet.. it confused me too though because of where it was..but also cause he is crawling and walking around i thought it might be rubbing against carpet etc.

Does it bother him?

Jack gets random rashes quite similar but they never really bother him so I don't worry too much about it and they usually go away on their own.

Does the exercauser have elasticated leg bits that they sit in? I think it's more likely to be that than his nappy, especially if the mark is lower than the nappy sits. Leo used to get the occassional heat rash on his lower tummy & hips last summer so I used to just try and give him lots of nappy free time to air the area, which he loved

Joel has spots like that on his tummy and gets a bit on his legs as well, I asked plunket last week and she said that it is most likely to be heat rash......which is what I thought it was. Doesn't bother Joel at all. He is also in ittis and it never occured to me that it could be them although I notice he has a red mark around his belly today so it maybe time to loosen then down to the next snap.
