Topic: Osteopath in Dunedin Posted: 06 March 2010 at 11:29am |
Hi all,
My breastfed baby is a nightmare to feed due to wind. I have to burp her around 6 times per feed, and its distressing for both of us. I am looking at taking her to an osteopath, can anyone reccommend someone in Dunedin to take her to? Thanks!

We had the same problem and we took our DD to a craniosacral therapist. Heather Wilson(i think that was her name) She was in Wakari Road.

Worked really well. She had three sessions with her and was like a new baby.

I have a friend who works as a CS therapist in Auckland and she highly recommends Heather. I know she specialises in young babies and has a midwifery background.
We took our little boy to one local to us and found it very beneficial. I've had Cranial myself and think it's a great therapy, very gentle and very effective.
Check out this site for more info.

Hi everyone. I don't have babies but I had to join this site as it appears you mum's are having a problem finding a qualified osteopath in the South Island who does cranial treatments for babies (also called IVM or craniosacral treatment).
I'm a UK trained, Registered Osteopath, newly arrived in NZ and fully trained in these techniques (among others) if it helps anyone. Some babies benefit greatly from this, some not.
To ensure a certain level of competence, all osteopaths have to be registered to work as osteopaths so the best route to finding one is to go to the official site for osteopaths, the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand's where you can search for osteopaths by name or area. Their website is www.osteopathiccouncil.org.nz. I'm listed as Angela Corona where you'll find my current work details - at present I work different days out of Mosgiel, Dunedin's Marinoto Clinic and Balclutha.
I hope I haven't broken any rules by posting here - apologies if I have but I just want to help :o)
