What are your thoughts on this? Would this be something you would be interested in? I'm not talking about shots of your vajajay, more so the emotion being captured in labour and those first precious moments with your newborn. I know it wont be for everyone - my DH flat out said no when I suggested it for baby no. 2 (when that happens) but if it was up to me then I reckon I would be keen! I'm not a professional photographer but I adore taking pictures and reckon I'm not too bad! I'm just toying with the idea that there might be a niche in the market for this type of photography. Love your thoughts

With my 1st two, I thought, NO WAY, but when we have our next, I think I would love some, my friend is a budding photographer, n wants to take some, all going to plan. I think it would be really special to c all the emotions on every ones faces, n I think she would also be an awesome support person for me.

Yeah I definitely think its something you might consider after No. 1. And it would depend on the circumstance too. I ended up having a c-section with my daughter, I was so out of it on drugs - didn't know if I was Arthur or Martha. The photos of me are terrible and it wasn't really a memorable experience. But some nice ones of DD would've been great - I was just not in a good way to take any. Its really big in the US....might take off over here but probably not so much - I think kiwi girls and guys are a bit more conservative.

LOL gotta laugh at the vajajay comment Yup, I'm totally keen for #1 birth photography. Saw an article about birthing photography in some magazine, think it was the pregnancy one. At first I thought oh 'ell no. Then after it spoke about capturing loved ones faces and moments etc the idea warmed on me and now I'm totally keen

I'm keen as long as I know the person! My MIL was invited to both my births and will be for this one too. She only made it to no. 1s birth though (no. 2 was too quick for her lol) and she did awesome photos, I feel sad for DD2 as she has like 2 fuzzy low quality photos of her as a fresh little baby.
Though now we're not living with my in laws I wonder if she would make it as I do have quick births and she lives 40 mins away.
On the other hand one of the playgroup mums does photography and I wonder if I got to know her well enough I'd be comfortable with her there.
I'm rambling but part of me is also thinking along the lines of you labour and birth quickest and easiest when theres only people you know and trust around you and you don't feel "watched/stared at". Which is why it would be important to me that I knew/trusted/felt comfortable with any birth photographer if I had one!

I'd love to have a birth photographer when we have another baby. I'm always looking through birth photos on FB and some really bring tears to my eyes. lol.
