Heya, I've never had OV pain as far as I know. Last night I woke up at 4:30AM with really bad pain (woke up curled in the foetal position, moaning in pain). At first I thought, oh here's AF.

Then once my brain starting waking up, I thought hang on, no where near due for AF! Then I realised the pain was slightly different, and it wasn't central where my normal AF pain is, it was to the left of the normal pain source and a lot more stabby.

It lasted about 10 minutes and then I was able to go back to sleep.

Never felt anything like it before. I had a positive OPK yesterday - so that's why I wondered if it's OV pain?

This was my first month off the pill and I had it so bad my colleague made me think it was early appendicitis so I went to the dr. He tested me for chlamydia but said that was because he was from europe and it is really common there. He said he was pretty sure it was ovulation pain and if the chlamydia test came back negative then that's what it was. It did come back negative and went away as suddenly as it came so I guess it was OV pains.

It started on thursday for me and was almost like getting the stitch, it got worse on the monday night and i couldnt even walk at one point. Tue morning I went to the doctor was was limping - it actually hurt most when I stepped out with my left leg (but didn't hurt when I went to the gym which is why I didn't think it was a muscle thing, even tho that's like what it felt like).

That night it was so bad like terrible period pain and was curled up in a ball in bed. Next day it was still quite sore and thursday it just went away suddenly!

FF says I ovulated tue so I think it might have been tue night when it got way worse.

The dr gave me a paracetamol prescription for it.

Hi Nellenium

I am just new to this forum! Thought I would post a reply as this month in particular I had such sharp ov pain that I had to go and have a lay down for an hour until I could move around again, without having to double over. It was right where my right ovary is (I imagine). I was temping and charting so I know that it definitely appeared to correspond with my day of ovulation. I had had quite a bit of twinging and aching for a day or two on the same side before that.

I usually experience some discomfort at ov time most months, and can always tell which side i'm ovulating on - but not usually such a feeling of stabbing pain like this month.

Interesting...

for me its A STABBING type pain on one particular side....(ironically more often my right than left and DD was a right side baby....i also felt her implant on teh same side at 9dpo, very similar pain...) that lasts a few hours off and on.... most women ovulate in daylight hours ....i usually get my ov pain in the afternoon/early evening...i get it every cycle since having my DD!
