Child care & baby-toddler groups - Wellington

Hi Everyone,

We've just moved to Seatoun, Wellington and need to find some, preferably, morning only child care for our 2 year old daughter. We were previously in Wadestown and spent the whole year on the waiting list for the crèche. Typically a place has come up for this term the same week we moved! I think she's too young for kindy.

We don't mind travelling to a good one but would rather not travel to the opposite side of town in rush hour! I also hope for it to be a good way to meet other Mums in the area.

Does anyone also know if there are any baby/toddler groups in the area too...Miramar, Seatoun, Strathmore areas? I'd love to start something to meet other mums in the area.

We are using Miramar Community Crèche. Our DD loves it. We only have tears when it's time to come home. There are 4 carers and a volunteer on a Tuesday. They are mornings only Monday to Friday and we were lucky enough to get in straight away so there can't be much of a waiting list.

There's another one over the road (KidzCorner) that we're on the waiting list for that does full days. I really like the look of there too but there's just that waiting for a space problem getting in the way!
