Wanted to know if there are anyone out there who is nervous about being pregnant again after having a premature baby. I am pregnant again after having my little girl Kate b.12/02/05 d.12/03/05 she was 25 weeks premature. We don't know why, but I have been under specialist care with this one. Its the fear of the unknown I suppose. This has been a good pregnancy so far and all is going well. I have teenagers and there will be a 13 year age gap, but we are all looking forward to our little boy. Anybody have anything to say on this subject or want to know anything love to hear from you.

Just wanted to wish you heaps of luck with your pregnancy. Also, my Mum went into labour at 27 weeks and was told if she could hold out to 30 weeks, baby had a 95% chance of survival and that's 20 years ago. You're nearly at that stage now, so I'm sure baby will be absolutely fine!

Hi again Its funny, k&jsmum that you mention about your twins. Because while I was in NICU with our daughter Kate, there was quite a few twins. I was relieved to find out I was not having twins this time, (there is twins that run in the family). Thankyou peoples for your well wishes.

Hi there,
Please try not to stress out too much,I had a baby boy 12 years ago who died while I was 24 weeks pregnant and since then I have had 2 beautiful daughters who were both prem.1 born at 30 weeks weighing 2lb 13oz and the next born at 36 weeks weighing 4lb 11oz.I was a nervous wreck both times and have been with this one at times but I am sure your doctor/midwife will take great care of both of you

I have had a normal full term birth with a whopping 10lb6oz boy and in July last year had a cutie 3lb1oz baby girl born at 30.2 weeks prem, due to my waters breaking twice in my pregnancy and then I bleed so she was born by c-section, I was terrified but every thankfully worked well for us, I will not be having anymore as it was just all too much, You are so very brave and I wish you well for your pregnancy you'll be fine and every day counts. good luck

Hi,
Thought I would comment on this to let you know that I totally understand your fears. We recently lost our baby girl who was born at 23 weeks after I went into labour spontaneously. There was enough time for the drs to give me the steroids to help her lung development and she fought really hard and was doing really well, but unfortunately they found that she had a huge brain bleed and we had to make the horrifying decision to withdraw her care as she would have been severely brain damaged, had she survived the months in the NICU...javascript:AddSmileyIcon('') Anyway, after what was the most traumatic and heartbreaking event of our lives...I am pregnant again. I'm only 6 weeks but I am terrified! I'm getting specialist care and they are confident that they can see me through to at least a more survivable gestation - they think that my cervix may have been damaged with my previous (healthy, 41wk) pregnancy?? So I'm just trying to stay positive and healthy and repeat positive affirmations each day e.g. "I nurture the life inside of me until it is strong and healthy", and I'm taking each day as it comes :-) Good luck!
It would be good to hear from more ladies who have been through similar...

Probably googling to find someone in a similar situation

I don't have any advice, mondeomum, but can only imagine how hard this is on you, and hope that this time everything goes perfectly.
