We got engaged at the beginning of the year and then 4 weeks later I found out I was pregnant. We already have a son and I'm keen to get married ASAP.
Just wondering what people reckon? Trying to weigh up the pros and cons of each option.
If we get married while I'm pregnant, it'll affect the dress I can wear, won't be able to drink, might be tired etc etc. If we wait, it'll need to be about 2 years down the track as I don't fancy getting married while BF and will be aiming for 12mths with this one too.

Anyone here got married while pregnant? How far along were you? If you could do it again, would you or would you wait?

Anyone else got any advice?

I found out I was pregnant the week after my hens night!! Was about 10-12 weeks at the wedding.

Because it was so close I already had my dress, although I had to get it let out a good inch all round to fit, and couldn't wear the corset I had bought specially.

The wedding was right when i had my worst morning sickness but I found that it didn't really matter - my mum and bridesmaids were aware of it so made sure that i had snacks available all day and in the end i didn't feel any nausea - maybe the excitement overwhelmed the ms? (it returned the next day though doh)

I had big plans to pour some sparkling grape juice into a real champagne bottle that was specially for me, but in the end i just drank water out of a champagne flute all day - it was so hot no-one thought it was really strange and I only got one or two comments about the fact I wasn't drinking.

I was really tired that night but all in all it was a fab day and I don't regret at all that I was pg for it. If it was me, 2 years would be too long to wait!!

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking...2yrs is a long time to wait.
I'm likely to be about 5-6mths pregnant if we go ahead this year so would definitely be 'pregnant' with a big belly! To ensure the most family can attend it would most likely have to be in June...brrr! I REALLY need to make up my mind fast to get everything organised in time!!
Partners are terrible at helping with wedding planning!

We got married when I was 16/18 weeks, didn't want to get married with a 6 week old bub so brought our wedding forward, luckily I'm not one to show that much by then.

Only thing that bothered me was I didn't drink anything except OJ

We also brought it forward as we knew it would have been forgotten about if we waited or delayed the wedding.

we got engaged & set the date for the end of Nov then a few weeks later after throwing up a lot I found out I was pg. I was 8mth pg when married & it was the best day ever. We had a church wedding, I drank sparkling grape juice & we stayed the night in a flash hotel. We are having our 12 wedding anniversary this yr & now have 3 kids. We did not want to put the wedding off or delay it, did not see a need to.

Looking back now I would not of change it. We are planning on renewing our vows at some stage so a new dress & a glass of bubbles then.

It is your day & it will be special no matter when you do it

I was 7 1/2 months pregnant when I got married - we got pregnant intentionally while we were engaged because we didn't want to wait due to our ages (late 30s). It was a fantastic day and I wouldn't change a thing. At 7 1/2 months pregnant I was feeling really good - over morning sickness, but not yet suffering from 3rd trimester symptoms (they started on the honeymoon!). The pregnancy even gave us the opportunity to add some unique features to the wedding, such as a cake topper with a pregnant bride (if you go down this route order from Ebay in the States - cheaper than buying from a cake shop in NZ). The only difficult aspect was the dress (dress shops don't really cater for pregnant brides, but fortunately we had an understanding dressmaker who put up with my constant changes to the design right up until the last week). We also had difficulties deciding what to do on honeymoon as a lot of the activities we had planned (for instance quad biking) wouldn't allow pregnant women. But all in all I wouldn't change a thing, as it was such a special day and I can say that our daughter shared it with us:-)

We were aleady trying to get pregnant we we got engaged, and I fell pregnant that same week. We'd already decided on the date and said we'd still still with that date if we were expecting. I was 26 weeks when we got married. I never really wanted a big wedding anyway so it was just a small thing in the in-law's garden with about 40 guests of close friends and family - exactly what I wanted. Being pregnant and not being able to drink didn't bother me. It was a hot summer's afternoon anyway so water, juice and sparkling grape juice was fine. I wasn't planning on a fancy wedding dress and just found a nice dress from a boutique store for $300 that was an empire cut and just flowed out over my belly and stopped at my knees. We then had our honeymoon in Taupo at a holiday house on the lake.

I loved being pregnant on my wedding day and loved every minute of it. Kinda made the day more special knowing our first bub was about to join us soon (although I didn't expect her to arrive only a month later - 2 months early!).

I was about 10 weeks pregnant on our wedding day. It was kinda awesome knowing our bubba was there too ;) I had planned the pregnancy so I wouldn't be showing though! ;)
I was in the middle of morning sickness but didn't notice it at all on the day. Even on our honeymoon, it was real mild, then as soon as I got back to work, MS in full effect! Crazy that my body knew to give me a break :)
I would imagine that as a new baby sorta takes over your life, trying to have a wedding soon after the birth would get really stressful!

I guess it really depends what you want in a wedding? Whether you have your heart set on certain details being just so or whether you're happy to compromise.

We got married when our youngest was 10 weeks old. It was a small, hastily planned (6 days notice) registry office event. We had 10 friends/family there. It suited us very well, but its not for everyone.

I was about 20 weeks I think, we had planned to save for ivf so brought the wedding day forward then got knocked up. Figured we may as well just go ahead with the day.
It was a nice day but honestly I was so tired by the night time...however this may not have been normal pregnancy feelings as my husband was REALLY ill that night (great wedding night) and I was ill a day later lol.

The dress was quite tricky and I was glad my mum was making it as I seemed to be expanding all the time hehe. I didn't care about not drinking, in fact I reckon if I did it again and was not knocked up I wouldn't drink then either or at least not much as it was quite nice to be sober.

ETA - try to choose the photos as a lot of sit down ones for you as it can be pretty tiring standing up for ages.

When we found out we were pregnant we got engaged and got married when he was 6 months old. There was no way I could have a wedding while I was pregnant  I didn't want to be huge and I had really bad morning sickness last thing I wanted is to be rushing off to the toilets. It was nice having him there on our wedding day made it extra special.

A friend of mine got married when she was about 30weeks or more pregnant. I think if it means a lot to you and you want to get married soon, then why not, you can work around anything and still find a beautiful dress :)

lol on the drinking front Jaune, I think I had a whole 2 glasses of wine on my wedding day (oh actually 3, had one while getting ready!) and drank lemonade and water all day and I wasn't pregnant! It was just one of those days that was so busy I never noticed not drinking.

I think you should go for it! you can find a gorgeous dress with an empire waist or something that I think would look amazing :-)

Hi, we got engaged and decided to start a family before a wedding. About a third of the way through i wanted to be married before baby came. It was amazing we got married 2 weeks before my due date, i was 9 months pregnant and we had a beautiful winter wedding in June amazing weather. I got a dress made and my dress maker made it a week before so it fit perfectly. I look at those photos and think it was a very special time.

I got married when I was 6 months pregnant with my second, the only downfall was not being able to drink at my reception, otherwise,it was fine,I wasn't too tired and my dress fit fine (a bit tight but I just breathed carefully) I look smaller in my wedding pics than I do now, which is a bit depressing...
but all in all,it was fine, the dress I chose hid my belly perfectly and I don't regret having it while pregnant at all.

I was just under 12w when I got married. I drank sparkling grape juice all afternoon/night - it was fine. My wedding dress was custom made (was always the plan), I was just lucky that we had enough material as I expanded somewhat rapidly. The dressmaker made my dress the night before the wedding, as at my fitting the day before she had to loosen the calico version she already had from the week before...

Everyone knew that I was pregnant anyway...couldn't really keep it quiet...

If it was me, I would wait.. I would want all the kids there, instead of just some of them And BFing really wouldn't affect that many aspects of it, especially if you waited till bubs was a wee bit older...
