What are the key features you think make a highchair "good"? What drives you nuts about a highchair? I don't know where to start in looking for one (cept it has to be light coloured wood).

Easy and quick to clean and not many places for food to get trapped. I hate our highchair for this lol so really the more simple it looks the easier it probably is to clean.

How close the tray can get to the child. Our first highchair the tray didn't get anywhere near Daniel so he could hardly reach the food when we started on solids, it was useless.

Easy to clean, less padding for this reason. We had a padded one first and the food always got stuck everywhere it was a PITA to clean so we got just a plain one that folds up and its great.

Ease of use - some of the trays on highcharis are annoying to pull out.

A nice high back.

I think thats about it

We bought a Mocka one, pros are it is easy to clean, adjustable so will turn into a chair later, it doesn't take up a lot of room, looks stylish and was a very good price. Cons are the velcro on the cushions wasn't very well stitched so kept coming off (although Mocka were great and sent us replacement cushions and the new design is much better), and the tray doesn't lift off over the head so you have to slide your baby in.

Overall though I'd buy it again over anything else I've seen.

Easy to fold away and not too big when it is folded away.  I hated this about ours, especially when we lived in our tiny flat.

some highchairs are way to big when your baby is young, so it would be worth taking him to a shop and trying him in some to get an idea.

something between the legs to stop them sliding out the bottom is essential.

Trays that come out to go in the dishwasher are a waste of time (you'll never do it)

Easy to wipe down and less places for food to hide is the most important thing.
