Topic: Help please :) Posted: 10 December 2008 at 8:26am |
Hi All
I just wanted to know if anyone could tell me if i should be concerned and seeing a dr, i have had minor bleeding (only when i wipe and not bright red more a dull reddish brown) since i found out on Friday i was pregnant. I havent had any pain, and when i told my dr on Friday about the bleeding he didnt seem concerned. I have a scan on Thurs so have sort of been thinking ill just hold out till then to know if everythings healthy or not. Anyone had any experiences like this in their current or previous pregnancies?

Hi there
I had a bleed around 7wks preg also, when I went for a scan bubs was fine Im due on saturday. Try not to stress to much, hard I know but just keep an eye on things and if the bleed turns into like bright red bleeding and similar to a normal period and is accompanied with abdo pain then go to your DR... Are you able to ring the place where your going for your scan and ask if you can be seen today? Best of luck hun...

Wait till your scan. Your Doc cant do anything anyway and the scan is far more likely to put your mind at ease. I'm sure it will be fine.

I have had it go both ways. My first pregnancy I had some pinky bleeding at 7 weeks, it turned into pinky brown stuff and I had some crampng then on day 4 I had a m/c.
With Caden, I had the same thing, but mu hcg was really high, but I had a scan at 6 weeks and everything was fine, but I still bleed brown for about 2 weeks. They dont know why.
So its really hard to tell with bleeding, but A LOT of women have it and have a healthy bubba in the end. Just try to rest up a bit and try not to stress too much.
Good Luck for your scan.

Hi hun, I had exactly the same thing. Went for a scan at 7 weeks and bubs was fine. Mine lasted for a while though and I also got lots of red heavy bleeding which lasted all 1st trimester and part of the 2nd. After lots of tears, Dr visits, scans and trips to the hospital, bubs was still fine and my almost 10 month old is in her bed playing (supposed to be going to sleep ). Lots of women experience this lightish blood early on and no one knows exactly why, although some think its old blood from implantation bleeding, or as my Dr thought, the bleeding could be coming from the cervix (i.e. your blood not the pregnancy). Good luck hun and I'm sure your scan will show bubs is happy in there and things are okay.

Also another thing I had to go thru was lots of blood tests to check my hcg levels. I'd get bloods taken one day, then again a couple of days later, to check the levels were rising. If you can't wait until the scan on Thursday, perhaps ask your Dr to give you a referral for some bloods. At this early stage they are often a good indication of how things are going.

Like Sheza I have had it go both ways too.
First pregnancy I had brown spotting for about 4 days at 6 weeks which turned into heavy red blood and I ended up miscarrying.
This pregnancy I had brown spotting starting at about 5 weeks, then red blood (not heaps) at 6 weeks 3 days, had a scan at 7 weeks and everything was fine, and I have since had my 12 week scan and baby is growing nicely.
There is no explanation for my bleeding so I guess it just happens to some women. Good luck for tomorrow

Well i had my scan today and unfortunately it didnt go as well as i had hoped. They couldnt see a foetus or yolk as they called it, i had the pregnancy sac but they couldnt see anything else they did however say that my sac was only measuring at about 5 weeks so it may turn out okay after all (though i wont be a july mommy) i only hope that you all can cross your fingers for me, i am going back to the drs tomorrow and i guess they will refer me for another set of bloods and a scan next week. I just really hope that it is all going to turn out ok. I took another pregnancy test today after and that still showed positive and i still have all my pregnancy symptoms but im not sure if that all means anything anymore... guess the worrying continues...

Aww hun fingers crossed for you that bubs is tucked away in there but just still a bit too little and a bit camera shy. Good luck with your next set of bloods and scan. Try no to worry and stay positive.

I also had bown bleeding on and off for a few weeks until it finally stopped about 9.5 weeks pg....it was *very* worrying! So hopefully it's just bubba settling in. With regards to your scan, is it possible you have your dates wrong? You may well have conceived later than you thought and what you're experiencing is implantation bleeding.....that would tie in with not seeing much at a 5 week scan. I had a scan at 4 wk, 6 days and all they could see was a sac and no bubba. There's definately one in there though! lol
Good luck, let us know how you get on....your HCG levels are a good indicator

I had a scan at 7 weeks and you could see the heartbeat, I thought that 5 weeks was too early to see anything as emmecat said. All the best, hope things are ok

My dates were purely from my last period but there was definately numerous times after that that baby could have been concieved, the scan guy said its possible i just ovulated at a different time to how they normally track it, i def have my fingers crossed!

Hey all i had blood tests today again and just got the results back with levels coming up at 13000, had them done last friday also and they were 5000. Anyone have any idea whether this is extremely low or not in comparison to the week before?
I have to wait till Tuesday morning and they are going to do another set of bloods and another scan. I am really worried :( the hospital is dealing with me now, as they took my IUD out earlier today.
I just want my baby, all this is just so stressful i hate it
