Topic: Eek! Im a little worried ... Posted: 07 December 2008 at 7:45pm |
We've all have a tummy bug this past week, and everyone besides myself all threw up. I've had nausea since Tuesday, and although Wednesday was the worst, I'm still feeling nauseous now. It feels just like MS, and even though I *know* it's the tummy bug making me feel sick, I can't believe it's still hanging around. I've noticed the past few days I've been peeing heaps more than I usually would, and I get hungry really suddenly, and need to eat NOW! And I've been craving apples! I haven't felt like, nor eaten an apple in I can't remember how long! On Thursday I ate 3 apples and could've had more but had to share them with Gia, then there were none left.
I'm almost tempted to POAS just to relieve my mind, as I know I couldn't possibly be pg, but all these symptoms are soooo just like when I'm pg it's scary!!
Please tell me it's just the tummy bug!

Yeah sounds like it could be the tummy bug. I found that when I thought I was pregnant I would think i was peeing more and stuff.
But POAS just in case

It sort of only just dawned on me today, about the peeing thing. I've never thought about the possibility of being pg until today, as all the symptoms are exactly like how I am with MS. Even my sense of smell - I can smell garlic in my bedroom from the kitchen (which is never an issue normally), and I can't decide what to eat, or what I feel like. Everyone got the bug and was sick for a few hours throwing up, and were fine 12 hrs later. I wish I was like that, instead of this lingering nausea!

Go and buy a test just to make sure. As when it went through our place the sypmtoms for me were gone the next day.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

I guess I will pick up a test tomorrow, depending on how I'm feeling. I'd rather get the idea out of my head, instead of pondering it. When I've had tummy bugs in the past, it's never felt this close to MS. Normally it's just the nausea, which goes after a day, and I don't get the heighten sense of smell, nor cravings.
ETA: We haven't had any accidents to make me think I *could* be pg, but you just never know eh!

Haha, thanks kiwisj . I thought it to be weird to crave food when you have a bug.
I craved necterines when pg with Jett! That's all I could stomach for a few weeks, but sometimes they were hard and tasteless which was soo depressing and frustrating when that's all I wanted.
With Rico I only ate cocopops when I had MS, for about 5 weeks! Needless to say, I lost a lot of weight!

Craving things when you just have a bug isn't that weird though .... when I was younger all I wanted to eat when I was sick was cornflakes (or cruncy nut cornflakes .... mmmmm). And although I "craved" them in my 1st tri, I reckon it's more that I see them as comfort food when I feel yuck rather than a preggy symptom

haha, you're making me all nervous! I don't have any tests obviously as I'm not TTC, so would have to buy one. I still feel yuck, this is rediculous! If and when I do test, I have my fingers crossed for a BFN!!

On the plus side, this whole situation is a good indicator for you about how you really feel about having another baby!
