Remember hun stay calm we are all here for you.

Not sure how to help the vomiting though .

How exciting. My MW told me that contractions dont always start straight away after waters breaking could take a while or could come very soon.

Thanks dagster! I'm feeling a little calmer now that the sun has come up and things aren't progressing too fast. And the vomitting was really sudden and violent but seems to have stopped

Yay, how exciting for you - you are going to have a baby today

My waters broke at 5.30am and I started having small contractions around 7.30-8am.

Good luck

Oooo so exciting  - can't believe the same thing happened to me one year and one day ago (its Jimmy's first birthday today). My waters broke at about 7.30am, and I had little contractions on and off all day until 5pm when they started to become pretty close together and strong. Jimmy was born just after midnight ... so not long to go now Lisa, woo hoo! Just try to relax as much as you can ... until it's time to push .

Make sure your midwife knows your waters have broken and at what time

ETA: and trust your body - it knows what to do, even if your mind is freaking out a bit!

My waters broke first both times and my contractions started pretty soon after, I also vomited during both labours which wasn't nice but gave me something else to think about.

Good luck and let us know how you are going, you will have that wee bubba soon

Hi everyone, thanks for the comments Well I've been walking and walking and theres no action yet aargh! Nervous but really want to have things get underway. So bubby will be alright even with her lack of waters to float in won't she? I'm anxious

Hey hun, how exciting! Have you called your LMC? If nothing happens within a certain amount of time they may want to give you some antibiotics to protect bubs from the small risk of getting an infection now there isn't a membrane between them and the outside world. And sometimes it's necessary for you to go onto a syntocinon drip to speed things up... that happened to a friend of mine when she hadn't gone into labour 18 hours after her waters broke. I should add she went on to have a perfectly straightforward labour and delivery!

That's great sounds like she's on to it

Hard as it is - I know you're probably stressing out a bit and jumping at every niggle - try to relax and get some rest, you will need all the sleep you can get. Practice some deep breathing, maybe some relaxation visualisation - and when things do start happening, as others have said, remember to trust your body and take every contraction one at a time.

Good luck!!!
