So many poo questions i know!! Anyway, Ava is on formula the majority of the time now (i express 1-2 times a day) and her poos are the consistency of clay and there isnt much to them. Does that mean she is constipated? she goes once a day.

Sounds pretty normal but it does sound like she is having a little bit of trouble but I wouldnt say constipated....when they first go on formula it can take a bit of a-justing, Caden got a constipated when he first had formula, but his were like hard little pebbles, I gave him 50ml of cooled boiled water with a teaspoon of brown sugar and it worked a treat. I also chaged his formula, Karicare made him bunged up. He is on S26 now and we have had no probs .

Formula poo, is more formed and will be like....firm but mushy, I hope that makes sense!

my plunket nurse said that *normal* poo for a FF baby should be a bit like toothpaste .

Try offering just some plain cooled boiled water to Ava a couple of times a day- if you can get her used to drinking it now it would be great for stopping her getting bunged up when she start of solids. Just a few ml will probably help in the long run.

yay!
If she gets quite bad add a little brown sugar to the water, I did that when Caden was pooping pebbles and he went fine the next day.
