I just bought a pair today to ease my nausea but so far it's not helping.  I'm guessing that's because I have them positioned wrong, although I followed the instructions.  I've only had them on for an hour but according to the leaflet they should work within 2-5 mins.

Can someone help me by posting a pic of your seabands positioned correctly?

I wore these during my first pregnancy - not sure they really worked that well though.

To position them i put my index and middle finger together and placed them against the crease in my wrist, the button bit of the band should sit under your index finger in the middle of your wrist (if that makes sense) - sorry no photo.

No pic here either, but I have used them for 3 pregnancies now. One worked, one didn't, and one did occassionally.

Just follow the instructions and I'm sue you'll have it right.

Theres a pic on this website - but I'm sure your instructions should have a pic, mind did.

I really rate them, as long as they are positioned correctly, otherwise I actually felt worse. And how Kicker described it is exactly how I used to put them on.

I put them on according to the instructions (same ones that Nefertiti posted which says to use 3 fingers) I adjusted them slightly after starting this thread and I think they're working now because when I tried moving them up (so they were positioned using 2 fingers) I got hit with a huge wave of nausea.  Only thing is the one on my left wrist hurts because it's putting pressure on a vein, that can't be normal.... can it?

Anyway, I got DH to take pics.  Does this look right to you?

Jo that looks way too far down your wrist. Use the tips of your three fingers not the middle of them. I found that I had to adjust them up, down, left or right just a tad before I got them to sit just right but they've really been working for me. When I feel really bad with them on I actually think those are the times that I would have "lost it" if I wasn't wearing them. I've noticed that the last couple of days I haven't been wearing them at all and I've been gagging and feeling like I would vomit every 20 minutes or so.

Just fiddle with one a little, wait for a bit and if still nothing, fiddle with the other one.

Good luck

MrsMojo- I used seabands regularly when I was backpacking for motion sickness ( esp. on boats! ) and found them to be great. They do hurt a little sometimes with the pressure points but I found them generally really good, although you might need to reposition them as Tracey says. For morning sickness however I found them rubbish, didn't help at all...but then nothing did!  I don't know why it works for one thing and not another as I have heard the theory that people who get bad motion sickness (like I do) often also experience bad ms....some corrolation between the part of your brain that detects motion and your sensitivity to it?  Funnily enough the only time I generally feel mildly better these days is if i've had heap of sleep and straight after I've thrown up. Yuck.

Good luck!!!

The little white thing needs to be just under the last finger. And make sure it is also between the 2 central tendons....and yes, sometimes is can be a little uncomfortable.

But do use the whole fingers not the tips, but perhaps move you fingers back a bit. And make sure the first finger is just at the edge of the crease of your wrist.

Hope this helps :)

They didn't work for me last pregnancy, although nothing did. I haven't tried them this pregnancy, my MS has been much more mild though so maybe I should dig them out again and see if they will help this time around.

clentch your fist, you will notice a little dimple/hollow in your wrist about 3 fingers down but it is different for everyone. that is the pressure point you need to put the ball on. i found that following the instructions was completely usless. I was told this method from a therapist that specialises in pressure points and it totally worked after that.
Might pay to visit a neurolink specialist too. that was great for my MS.

Yep, Jo, they look too far up your arms, I just measured my wrist and they were about 2cm from my hand - from memory I had to stop wearing my watch because it was right were the strap was. They don't make the nausea go away, they just help reduce it.

I guess they will work or they won't. I loved them but on saying that, they may not do the same thing for someone else.

Good luck tho!

I loved these when i was preg i think i only took them off to shower. They didnt stop my MS but they made it bearable. I put mine in a few different places until i felt they worked the best tho. I never got round to getting preggie pops but my mate swore by them. I was more of a hard lollie person like barley sugars.
