Topic: Help with Capsule Posted: 28 October 2008 at 2:42pm |
I need help!
We got a Safe n Sound Royale convertible seat, which when in car (Subaru Impreza wagon thing) in reclined NB position behind passenger seat is HUGE and my seat is way forward with my knees in the glove box!
So we went and got a Milano capsule with the base, I still feel quite far forward in the car.
I was wondering if anyone can please please post a pic of their NB seat inside their car so I can compare space-wise to mine? TIA

Have you tried putting it in the middle of the back seat? In my instructions for the evenflo carseat we got it says the middle is the best place, as long as it is secure etc. Maybe try going to somewhere like plunket to see if they can install it correctly for you? Sorry not much help. Good Luck!

We had to have our passenger seat way forward in both the truck and car (station wagon) with the capsule, and now with the royale seat too!
Wasn't too bad as it was usually just me driving with no passenger.

I have a forward facing carseat in the back as well for my little sister, so space is a bit of an issue. Tried putting it in the middle, but that affects the driver's seat too! I can't win. I haven't taken much notice of capsules in cars until now, so haven't really realised how much space they take up.
Ahh well, just have to suck it up and sit far forward, and hope that DH can see past my big head lol

Hey - I have the same problem, have a royale and an impreza! I agree the seat has to go way forward, but even with the evenflo capsule we got from plunket its still pretty forward.
It's just something we're gonna have to adjust to (having no leg room) until we get a bigger car!

We had the same problem!! I had a Toyota 2 door Trueno and it was a pain in the butt.
I now have a Mazda Demio and its a 4 door large hatcback and we have Caden in a Safe n Sound carseat and its still annoying but not as bad, the passanger seat is still forward a bit. I know a lot of my friends have the same problems.

I plan on putting the baby seat in the middle to avoid side impact crashes. Lucky ours is a Holden Viva Wagon which is quite roomy, I wont be able to put it in our other car which is a 2 door Toyota Levin.

I liked mine being on the side as it made the seat really secure. But yeah, I always worried about that side of the car getting hit
I feel HEAPS better now that Caden is in the safe n sound carseat though, its so much safer than a capsule.

I have a safe and Sound as well that DD grew out off...I like those as well they are nice and bulky looking and looks like has loads of side protection!!
As soon as baby is comfy she is going in it!

Yup our seat is way forward to with the capsule, haven't tried the safe n sound in it yet but will assume its going to be the same. Not a problem most of the time as I'm normally driving.
