    Posted: 24 October 2008 at 10:00am
As some of you know I could possibly be pregnant again. I had a C Section 4 Months ago.
I have read that there is risks of the uterus rupsuring and stuff, no Im freaking out!!!!!
This wasnt a planned pregnancy so I havent looked into that sort of thing until now.

Does anyone know anyone that has done this before, had a c section then got pregnant shortly afterwards and been fine?

try talking to your MW or at least a GP ASAP

I think you'll need to have a planned CS, due to the fact if you push you might rupture your CS from last time since it's quite close together.

Yeah, I dont mind having another C Section, and I know it will be planned, but I was worried about "durinf" pregnancy as the uterus expands. I know its prettt well healed now, but it still scares me eek lol

The problems that my mw went thru with me wasnt so much the rupturing but  the uterus or placenta growing thru the inside scar tissue and it attaching to other organs such as bladder etc, from what I gathered from her this was a concern for recurrent c sections and I'm not sure how or if it would effect an early preg.  Just get some advice from someone in the know, it might just mean a little extra monitering 'to make sure'.  Even different mw's and Dr will have differing opinions on this and will depend whether they have encountered the problem or not as to whether they will see your situation as threatening.

Congratulations on the poss BFP tho!!!

I was told to wait for 1 year before having number2....and I didnt plan for number two so close together so I didnt ask many questions as too why etc?

But when I got pregnant this time I asked if I was safe? MW told me yes its been three years....and its due to scar not healing enough before new pressure is put on it etc etc...

I think its best if you do ask your Doc or MW as soon as you know for sure that you are pregnant!!

Good Luck!

well I phoned my MW this morning and told her that i think im pregnant.
She asked me how I feel about it and I said good apart from being worried about having a c section so soon before i fell pregnnt. She said that its not the actual pregnancy to worry about its the labour so she said to be on the safe side It would be best for me to have a c section.
She said that it will a much better experience for me cos it will be planned and not an emergency like Caden.
So im feeling MUCH better now :)

This will be my third c section when this one arrives, and my first was emerg, my second was to be an elective but she had other ideas and arrived earlier than expected but honestly the healing process was much better as I did not labour before hand, had a 12 hour induced labour first time with 1 hour of pushing ......... will be watching and have read your other threads to see if you are def preggers, you brave lady your gonna be one busy mumma!

I was advised to wait a year before getting pregnant again because of my traumatic birth and emergency c section too.

I am sure your m/w will take great care of you knowing you only had a c section failrly recently though!

the OB at the hospital( i had to see due to some issues) said a year was fine(I'm assuming she meant getting preg a year after).. she was more worried bout making sure my BP was ok!

there is increased risk ..which is why they get you to wait ...but hopefully will all be good for you:) it's really slack they didn't talk to you bout it:(! as you say at least it won't be emergency like the last one(I'm having a planned c-section next time too)
Mum to two amazing boys!

Im happy about it , I love being a mummy and Caden and the new bub will be ebst freind being so close in age!
We were going to wait until our wedding night to TTC again but I always say things happen for reason.
So whatever happens me being preg or AF showing up, it will happen for a reason.

No probs with the pregnancy. After I had DD1 by c/s I wasn't told to wait at all. I didn't get pg quite as quickly as you, though, she was 11mos old when I found out I was pg with DD2 and I was able to have a VBAC with her (my choice).

Regardless of whether you want VBAC or c/s for your bub #2, you will be referred to an OB in the 3rd trimester to help you make an informed decision.
