Hi, I think there was a thread on here about the types of washing powders to use for babies things but I cant find it....So I'd like to know what everyone uses in either Top Loaders and or Front Loaders...

Im currently using persil sensitive & huggie sensitive fabric softner because My DD2 & DD1 have eczma & it seems to be ok with their skin but Im not sure if bubs would be able to handle it...

Any suggestions will be much appreciated...

With Spencer I was originally just using the persil one for front loaders (not sure if it was a sensitive one or not, it was low suds though). Then when we went into cloth I got eco store for them and then have ended up using it for all our clothes and find it better and cheaper than the persil.
Spencer had allergy related ezcema but has been fine with the eco store stuff.

Oh ok, One of my board buddies from due dec mentioned the eco store powders, I will look into that....

I too use ecostore and find it great.

DS (2yrs) also has eczema relating to food allergies and while his eczema was really bad we used baking soda for all the family clothes which worked well.

We are now back to ecostore though.

be careful if you have a front loader as some washing powders state they aresuitable but actually aren't and end up corroding your engine....personal experience talking here. contact your manufacturer

i used ordinary persil on my boys but use persil sensitive now cause i dont like the new scent of the persil. never had a problem with it.

I used lux flakes initially for DD1 but changed to Persil sensitive (she also has bad eczema due to food allergies). Never had a problem with the Persil senstive - but only buy it when it is on special (thus I have a good stock of it).

Haven't tried Eco Store - might have to look into that too.

I have a front loader and don't like to use powder as it doesn't seem to dissolve properly - even if I put in a smaller amount.

So I use Amolin liquid and it's lovely

MamaPickle can we buy that Amolin liquid from the supermarkets? Would it be suitable for chillies with eczma & or sensitive skin?

I currenlty use eco store in my top loader as my skin has been really sensitive since falling pregnant and I find it great plus cheap too.

My sister uses it in her front loader and her son has had no reaction to it.

Amolin can be brought from a super market and is made foe sensitive skin so perfect for littles

We have excema (me, DD2 and DD3) but washing powder doesn't seem to make any difference. Just heat and/or food.

We have a toploader. I get excema and now DS does too. I have been using Persil Sensitive for years and love it.   

Haven't tried ecostore but I have also heard it is good.
