Not from lack of looking, but I'm thinking maybe hidden in a thread somewhere there might be a price comparision for disposables against cloth.

I haven't been into the cloth threads before so was hoping a regular might be able to point me in the right direction.

I am quite a visual person and would like to see an actual price comparision perhaps on a week to week basis of actually how economical cloth nappies are. Is there a chart or perhaps someone here has actually worked it out?

TIA :)

I just found this link:

little buttons comparision

If you look down at the bottom of the page there is a chart. Does this look right to all you cloth users? And does anyone use this brand?

The top table looks about right.

I haven't gone through and worked out how much it costs to wash but it would depend on if you do a hot warm or cold wash. I do cold so it would be cheaper especially as we don't pay water rates in palmy, it's part of our city council rates. And my box of ecostore powder lasts well over a month so I dunno what that works out to be per load, but I think its cheaper than they have stated on there.

I have 1 of their pocket nappies.

Oh and that doesn't even take into account reselling your nappies once you have finished with them, or using them for another child makes it super cheap.

Looks about right to me, if anything they have over estimated the cost of cloth as I haven't spent $900 and Spencer is in cloth full time.
I also buy ecostore, I buy the huge tub off their website and we do all our washing with it. I bought our last tub 5 months ago and still have a 1/3 of it left as I have a front loader so only need to use a tiny amount. I wash everything at 40 degrees or higher but our washer is super efficient and only uses 147kw a year based on 365 washes at 40 degrees, so a couple of washes a week for my nappies would cost next to nothing.

I don't have any of that brand of nappy.

i don't think i spent $900 for 2 kids in cloth naps full time.....but i guess it depends on which brand you get..

i have 2 of the little buttons premium naps and love them. i'd get more but charli will be tt'ing soon so there's no point.   i've tried the pop nap system they have too but didn't like it

baby harmony and itti bitti d'lish are my faves though
