I am going to write a wish list for #2. We had a bassinette borrowed from my Aunt for Jack but was thinking to buy one for #2, I really like the Cariboo one with the canopy. Then I started to wonder whether a moses basket would be best, I see you can get them with stands. We don't need the portability of a moses basket as we have the bassinette on the Mountain Buggy and a Hammock on a stand.

So what's best? Bassinette or Moses Basket??

I had a moses basket and loved that!
Although I had a big baby and she grew out of it very quick. I personally liked it because of the portability and it fit well in my tiny house. Other than that a basinette would have been fine.

We had the Ezee Rocker bassinette, pretty much exactly the same as the Cariboo.
Definitely one of the best purchases we made - loved that you could rock it so easily, especially to calm my little non-sleeper. Also made transferring to the cot so much easier as we just attached it into the cot for a few weeks so he could get used to the different view.
Friends of mine used a Moses basket for all of a few weeks before their little girl got too big for it. Meanwhile we used the basinette for about 5-6 months.

I had a borrowed cariboo basinette and a moses basket.  I ended up using the basinette at night and the moses basket during the day.

Next time we'll just use the moses basket.  I loved the portability of the moses basket... I could carry Michaela around the house with me without actually disturbing her sleep.

We don't have a stand for ours but will probably set up the cot and put the moses basket in there when the time comes to keep the baby out of reach of our toddler.

I did wonder how long a moses basket would last. I saw some gorgeous ones at the Baby Factory the other day and that is what got me thinking. Think I might stick to the bassinette. Thanks ladies
