Or shall i say toddler proofing lol.. Only 10 days to go and then shes a toddler

What did you do to baby proof? We have a stair gate as we are upstairs. We dont have anything she can knock over and our bookcases etc are built into the walls.

Do i buy those plastic things that go into spare plugs so she doesnt jam anything into it? Draw lock thingys so she doesnt jam her fingers?

What else??

Yep definelty the power plug sockets.  Potplants she may try to climp up on and knock over.  My DS used to crawl over to the magazine rack and start ripping them lol!  Basically get down and have a crawl around and anything that looks like it might be messy, and or dangerous lol.  Another thing my boy used to always go for is the cd rack!  You kinda have to decide whether you want to move everything til she is a bit older, or teach her that she cant touch some things IYKWIM?  Personally I moved most things, saved the hassle til they were old enough to understand a bit more

jamming fingers is a favourtie past time here and I have had to move the catches up to the higher drawrs now that he is cruising (no he didnt learn on the lower drawers).  Tom has also just worked out the toilet seat and is fascinated with the toilet and the rubbish bins in there.  ugh!  He has also just worked out how to open cupboards so make sure these have catches on and all dangerous chemicals etc are up high....Tom gets into our pantry and tries to drink soy sauce

Another thing to think about is your kitchen....where is your oven.  Ours is wall mounted so out of reach but if you have the normal on the ground one remember that that gets hot.

for sharp corners such as coffee tables you can buy plastic protectors, and oven doors can be easily pulled down on heads if in reach. at babycity they have a safety pack which includes socket protectors and drawer stoppers etc, they are usually near the counter and about $20 i think??

We gated the kitchen off so he can't get anything in there and just in case all the chemicals have been moved to overhead cupboards in the laundry. I have pretty much just baby proofed what he touches. So for us that has been a couple of power points that he can get to, the doors on the tv unit, some drawers on another unit in the lounge which he uses to pull himself up but they just fly open without the catches. We are gonna gate the other end of the lounge off as well cos at the moment he keeps posting everything he can get his hands on out of the cat flap and its driving me batty.
Oh and we keep the bathroom door shut as well cos Spencer also has a fascination with the toilet and bin.

So I would just watch what she is drawn to and then fix the problem, not much point baby proofing stuff she has no interest in touching, just makes it a nuisance for you.

We just had a stair guard. She's never tried to get into drawers or many cupboards and is only just climbing now. She opens the plastics cupboard but has never tried any of the others! Our video player is in a cabinet and she has never tried to open it.

Guess we were just lucky - she explores everything outside but doesn't get into things inside.

Our kitchen is downstairs so she cant get to it, also the stair gate that blocks the stairs also stops her from getting to the bathroom, so she only has her room, my room and our living room. I just went and bought plug things. I seen the corner things but our coffe table has round corners so no pointy bits.. Im going to crawl around tonight and have a look..
