I've heard you should definately wash baby's clothes and blankets and stuff before they arrive. Just wondering what to wash them with though? Normal washing powder? Or sensitive stuff? What about fabric softner?
Let me know if you have any ideas!

I used Lux Flakes then Amolin with Maya, and Next Generation or Ecostore with the gremlins but now I just use Persil Aloe and Chiara seems to be fine with it.

I just used normal persil stuff, we use ecostore now though as its better for his cloth naps. I also bunged his stuff in the dryer for a bit to fluff it up when he was little, sometimes when they line dry they can be a bit stiff but 10mins in the dryer makes them nice and soft.

I've pre-washed all baby's clothes using the Ecostore powder ... love Ecostore products

I just washed them according to instructions which generally seemed to be a warm/cold wash.

I was like tha too Kriss....I think its called "Nesting"....well thats my excuse!!

To be honest tho I still put a cap full of Dettol while washing DD's cloths. It gives them a fresh smell...I like it. It doesnt harm her so why not?

Funnily enough, I use a lid full of Napisan (pink one) in every wash because DD comes back home with lovely marks on her cloths from Daycare, then normal powder and two lid full of Dettol. so yah...covering every thing!! I am crazy!

However I wont be washing this baby's cloths with normal powder untill I know baby is not sensitive to any thing!

I got told not to use ecostore on wool.
It can ruin wool over time.

I have got the ecobubs wool nappies and they said not to use it.

We looked it up on the website and it said not to use the powder but the liquid was ok.

Just thought I would share incase anyone has nice things that Grandma has knitted

I am going to start washing all Kaitlyn's second hand clothes so I know they are well washed before she wears it. We can only use low suds because of our washing machine and add a tiny bit of fabric softner and napisan.

I still wash my son's clothes in Lux Flakes, it is so nice and is good on his skin, which turned out to be sensitive in the early days.
We use Nappy san to soak the DC clothes which tend to come back quite dirty.

When V was little i bought the napisan baby care (white pack) and used normal powder. i think i was using ecostore at the time.

Now i use ecostore or a special one mum got me from malaluca (SP?) that smells so nice & is so safe from harsh chemicals etc.
I used Fabric softener on his clothes & always washed them in a warm wash. Normall wash our clothes on cold. Now his clothes get thrown in with ours coz most of them are dark. But whites normall go on a warm wash. Just put a load of baby stuff through to fill up the load i had. Bubs due in 9 weeks or so. Deffinately prefer to wash them first for someone so little. Espesh coz most of his clothes have been in storage for a ocuple of years or used by someone else in the meantime
