Oh dear I hope she settles down soon... it can really do your head in when they're like that and you can't calm them down.

I hope she has calmed down now. If not (i dunno if you letting her cry or if she is just having a bad moment) but josh wouldnt stop screaming the other night and in desperation i wrapped him for the first time in ages and he went silent straight away and straight to sleep. Dunno if it helpful or not sorry but hugs anyway!!

hope she settles soon.

Sometimes if nothing else will work I give Chloe a dose of pamol, usually on gut instinct and so far every time I have done it she has been getting ill anyway. Do you think she might have sore ears or something, or is it just a once off thing?

You could try wrapping her in a sheet?

She's settled now thankfully..

....but while I was trying to settle her she was fighting me, pushing me away by slapping and pinching my face!! Also, every time I left the room she's scream again kind of like she was afraid of something...

I ended up giving her a dose of Nurofen and making her another bottle (which she didn't end up drinking entirely) She wouldn't feed with the lights dimmed or the TV on, so I had to do just the opposite until she was calm enough... and pop her back into bed!! She whimpered as I left, but I think she finally dozed off but I'm too scared to go and check, just in case

Hope she's still sleeping peacefully Neeks. My Mum told me about one time when my lil brother wouldn't stop screaming/crying for 12 hours - which wasn't like him at all - and she finally discovered the reason why .... part of his booty had snagged around one of his toes and had cut off the circulation almost completely. She didn't discover this until she dressed him the next day - luckily his toe was fine.

Poor girl, poor you. We've been having similarish problems here and just trying to ride them out. It is disheartening when all want to do is comfort them and they push you away. Hope it's a one off

Thanks everyone!!
Turns out she was getting a cold as this morning her nose is running like a hose and she also has a slight cough. She's still sleeping well but before bed tonight I will put some Karvol on a nappy under her head and a bowl of hot water with some in it as well... will also raise the head end of her bed to help her breathe easier She's still chipper enough and isn't off her food or fluids at all, but earlier this morning I gave her some Nurofen so hopefully it'll pass without getting TOO serious!

Hi Neeks, my 7 weeks old has the same problem!! He's been having runny nose and coughing, very restless all night last night and today.
I'm officially worn out!

Definitely going to see our GP tomorrow, any advice to settle him tonight?!

Hiya Hellen, if your wee mite has a runny nose I would suggest buying some Karvol - it's like vicks but it comes in little capsules and you just break the capsules open to put them on a cloth nappy OR in a bowl of hot water and raise the head end of his mattress up a bit to help clear his air ways of any nasal mucous (sorry, TMI)

Keziah was much easier to settle tonight now that I know what's wrong with her..

Heard about Karvol, I presume you can get them from pharmacy?

Neeks, what do you do with it after putting it in a bowl of hot water? Sounds like a silly question...hehe

I wonder if he's restless because he just had his first immunisation as an effect?!

Yay Keziah is settle now...lucky you! I need to sort out my little man...
