I intend to go straight to cup next time around, it makes a lot of sense to me to skip the bottle stage if you don't need to use them.
Because I started work full time when Michaela was only 5mo and IMO still a bit too young to have all her meals from a cup she had EBM (and later formula) from a bottle when I wasn't home to feed her but next time around I won't be rushed back to work.

I've just started giving Cooper a cup.. he's doing ok with it. I figure by the time he's old enough to have milk, he'll be drinking solely from a cup.

A friend of mine did the same thing with her last child because the first two wouldn't get off the bottle!

No, not the only one My little boy is nearly 6 months and has never had a bottle. We tentatively tried to give him a bottle at about 5 months and he had absolutely no idea what to do with it and got thoroughly upset with the whole thing! We decided not to persist with it and are hoping to try introducing a cup at some point fairly soon

If you can BF to the age where there is no point in introducing a bottle, then good on you I say.
I stopped BF at 3 and a half months for various reasons, and there was no way Chloe was ready for a cup then. I've tried her with a cup recently too and she just isn't ready. But if you can get past needing a bottle then that's just a bonus really... no need to have stacks of bottles to buy

I tried giving Jack a bottle twice with EBM but he never took to it so didn't bother after that. He went straight onto a sippy cup when I stopped bf

I only ever gave Keira a bottle with water in it a night so I wasnt constanly having to get up in the night to get her a drink.
I BF untill she was 18 months, so with milk we gradually introduced it in the cup from the age of 1. She whould never take milk in her bottle - too weird.

My girls have always had water in a cup not bottle, but I have expressed for both Hannah and Kryssi and they had bottles (at various times) for that. Kryssi eventually went onto formula at 9mos but she was my first FF baby so therefore the first regular bottle feeder of my girls.

We had our feeding session at antenatal last week, and she was saying that the international health people are now recommending cup over bottle - so there you go I think it was because cup develops better muscles for speech or something?

C was bf and bottle fed pretty much from birth , she needed to be so her father could take care of her (at HIS house, since we are not and werent together) and i didnt trust her as a newborn to drink out of a cup.
If i was exclusively bfding however, then i might go on to a cup when i weaned them off.
