Hey
Has anyone noticed that they can't eat chilli hot food anymore? My husband is half Fijian Indian so we eat spicy/hot food quite often, I have found that I find the smallest amount of chilli hot now!!

Very weird

I found my tastes completely changed in the first trimester and my most loved foods (incl curry) were incredibly unappealing.

It will get better!!

I've found that too! My partner is Indian and everything seems extra hot to me now. I hope that goes away when Baby comes!

I'm quite lucky in that it hasn't been giving me heartburn though.

Glad I am not the only one, my mother in law is giving me a bit of grief about not being able to eat spicy curries anymore!

Do you think it is ok to eat curry from an indian restaurant? I want to eat butter chicken but am a bit nervous as I always see the chicken hanging up... not in the fridge...

Oh, and throwing up after a curry is definitely NOT something I want to do again! I had a really mild vegetarian dahl thinking that would be ok - the onions kept burning my throat! Ouch!

I'm impressed you can eat at all lol, at 8 weeks I was living on fluids...

I've eaten Butter Chicken from our local Indian restaurant while I've been pregnant and been fine, but I only trust them coz we eat there all the time and they have a really good reputation, otherwise I might be a bit more selective. You could always try a vege curry if you don't want to trust the chicken?

And yep, my DH moans too coz I order mild these days when we usually have med, coz even mild plays havoc with my heartburn.

Yesterday I ate sateh sauce, which I absolutely love. Man did it taste hot! (It's never tasted very spicey before). And I felt sick all night.
Guess that one's off the menu.

Also I don't really fancy unhealthy food anymore. Really weird. I haven't touched a biscuit or chippy in days now. Or chocolate ! I used to eat chocolate almost everyday. All I want now is fruit, and dry crackers and yoghurt, lots of yoghurt.
Wonder how long this is gonna last.

Yes its is weird...I went off anything like that in all pregnancies......at the beginning....

BUT would give anything to down a HUGE Butter Chicken or Korma now..however its just not worth it as anything like that or onions or garlic just gives me chronic chronic heartburn and indigestion for hours and hours....

I had butter chicken home made last night, and it was GOOOOOD. It is hotter than what most indian resturants make I find.

I love spicy food, my husband doesnt like it so much because his stomach plays up a lot, but on the odd occasion he loves my butter chicken.

If I cant eat spicy food I will scream lol.

Home made butter chicken just never tastes as good as the stuff you get in the curry shop!

Eating mandarins gives me heartburn so I think I would put up with the pain to eat a curry... mmmm

I always look at the food rating as well as my experience of the place - if you've been there before and had no problems, and if they've got a good rating, I'd go for it. Just ask them to make sure the chicken is really well heated.

Somethings are worth the pain of heartburn, and a good curry is one of them!
