Nappy Rash cream for MCN’s??

I was ready on TNN that there are a few nappy rash creams that are ok to use on MCN's. I thought you couldn't use creams, as it left a build up on the MF?? So my question is, are there really creams you can use which are ok, and if so do they work well? I am using sudocrem on Sophie at the moment, and find it works well, but I would prefer to use something that is kinder to my nappies if I can.

apparently the honeychild site has a list of suitable creams. i always used a washable liner when i had to use cream, which wanst often as we are a curash family here too!

Yeah its at the supermarket along with all the other baby creams/powders/lotions etc, pretty cheap and works great.

If a cream has zinc in it you really need to use a liner with it if you are using MCN's, that includes things like Bepanthen. Stuff like Tui Bee Balm is OK, any of the 'natural' stuff that is more of a translucent salve is OK to use without a liner, as are powders.

What are you mixing it with?

I tried the curash powder last night, and it seemed to really dry her up, and work well. I'm impressed!

I was going to start a seperate thread on another section on the forum but as it's being discussed I'll start here. Has anyone heard of Curash causing a rash? Rohann has had a rash (mostly gone now) that I thought was being caused by her fitted night nappies, but not so sure now. I'm slowly trying to eliminate things, and when DH suggested the powder I was like 'nooo don't be silly', but then I thought about it, and it does seem to be only where the powder goes. So dunno?? Any suggestions will be great though. I'm also going to try stripping my nappies, but I wouldn't think I'd have to do that after only 10 weeks. Also I figure if it was a washing powder allergy, or fleece (from nappy) allergy it would be everywhere the nappy touches, but it's only on the front - would you agree with this?

Yeah that's what I'm going to do, first step is getting rid of rash completely, then stripping nappies etc , just to start with a clean slate so to speak. But just curious if anyone had heard of this or had it
happen.

Oh and someone at Nappy Days told me that Eco store powder can 'stick' in the nappy and she recommended persil sensitive ????? Never heard this before, esp as you use so little powder.

That's what I thought, I felt it was an odd comment, esp as you use so little.

I thought it was relating to the cream and not the washing powder. Powder seems fine - it is when they have tonnes of fillers and fragrance etc that you seem to get increased build up.

As far as cornflour paste - it is water soluble so I imagine it'd be fine with no liner. It's only the stuff that doesn't dissolve easily in water that I'd worry about with naps.
