Hmmm... have been thinking about this for the past few days...

I've just trained DSD up on how to do night nappies so she can do them when I'm in hospital having baby, and so far she seems to have the hang of it. Willie doesn't understand the difference between night nappies and day nappies

We've been sposie free for a few weeks now, and I'm quite proud of us but I'm having second thoughts about whether or not to leave some sposies for them when I'm in hospital so I don't come home to 4 days worth of dirty cloth nappies.

I don't *want* to buy any, especially as I've only bought one pack of newborns and am planning on having baby in cloth from when we get home, but then on the other hand, it probably will make my life easier in the first few days.

Silly dilemma I know, but I'm puzzling over it. So what would you do?

I think I would buy one pack and put them somewhere out of sight. Then if they need them, you can tell them where they are. Mind you, I guess that puts the onus on you and you will be somewhat distracted. So hmmmm. Not sure. I think having some on stand by could be a good idea. Ok so I'm waffling and really don't know

I'd just go for it, have you instructed her how to get the poo off and everything? Instruct Willie to the nappy washing daily (or however often you wash) and if they leak and things don't go plan you won't be there so won't have to clean up anyway

I think you should train DSD up on how to wash them too, so you come home to no washing and no gross sposies too!

Well we DO use liners, so I guess that makes their job easier

I suppose too if he gets desperate there's no reason HE can't buy sposies - altho he wouldn't know where to start!

You can look at it 2 ways:

1. Just make it easier on everyone and buy the sposies. It's not going to kill the environment or cause any major damage to anyone health to use sposies for a few days while you're in hospital. It'll be one less thing for you to worry about and you can get everyone back in cloth once you're home to keep an eye on things.

2. Train DSD (whoever that is?) on the washing and make sure they know you don't want to come home to 4 days worth of dirty nappies! It's not going to kill anyone to spray a few dirty nappies and put a couple of extra loads of washing on (especially given the size of your machine!).

Good luck with your decision

you want the nappies washed, the beds changed, the house tidied, the toilets cleaned, the bath scrubbed, the oven cleaned, the fridge cleaned and restocked....its the least they can do....you are pushing another watermellon out your jacksie!

DSD is old enough to know how to wash them and if you show her that they can be washed with the rest of the clothes she should be fine.

Also you are right if Willie gets that desperate he can go and buy some sposies.

willie is quite capable of buying them if he wants to use them anyway...   and i presume the nanny will still be going over and she knows how to wash nappies... as does kelly
