Topic: Fluffy post! Posted: 14 May 2008 at 11:49am |
I just went to check the mail, hoping I would find my DBs package, but instead I was surprised by my Bitt Boo fitted which I only ordered online on Sunday night! Considering I had to wait for my online banking transfer to clear, and the post to arrive, I think this is outstanding CS from Mother's Instinct!! Thanks Karyn
I have to say, the Bitt Boo feels sooooooooo gorgeous!! It's like nothing else I've ever felt. The bamboo velour is so soft and snuggly - I wish all of Leo's nappies felt like this! I got Sky Blue which is a gorgeous baby blue colour and the inside is a natural colour, which looks lovely. Can't wait to try it out tonight - might try a Foxybots nappy (no inserts) overtop for a cover.
Oh I love fluffy post!!!

That is fantastic!!
I have just started my change to cloth and am currently waiting for my 2 ecobubs wool pockets to arrive. I ordered them on 3 May, got confirmation on 5 May, money out on 6 May and still no nappies
I finally decided to email them yesterday morning and still no reply?? Do you think I should ring them or am I just going to look like a pain in the bum?!
Maybe I should try something different next time unless there is a reasonable explanation

Did you order them from Ecobubs direct? That does sound like quite slow service and considering you've tried emailing I would definitely ring them. Who cares if they think you're a pain in the bum? They have your money and you have no nappies!
Let us know how you get on.

Ecobubs are expensive, too! That's alot of money to be missing/late in the post... I would bug them about it, I have never had a fluffy mail go missing - had one take a couple of weeks, and in the end she sent out another (was a DB cover) then after I'd gotten the 2nd one, she found the first package under the seat of her car which I think is perfectly reasonable to blame on the little boy sitting behind it.

Okay have rung them and they were posted on the 8th May so somewhere along the line they have disappeared
The lady was really nice and said she would get onto it and find the parcel and then let me know by Friday what is happening.
I was so excited about getting them, my first cloth naps, now the excitement has kinda gone but I am sure it will return when the parcel finally gets here
Am just planning my next move I quite like the look of Honeychild pockets...hmmmmmm!
Mothers Instinct seem like they have pretty amazing service, will have to go and check them out.

Big bugga about the 'lost' fluffy mail! But don't let it put you off, atleast it is getting sorted now.
Awww I'm so jealous of the bitti boo fluffy mail. I'm waiting for MI to get more in so I can order mine, the only colour they have left in Medium is gold, and I want a girly colour for Sophie. Am v tempted to get a d'lish at the same time, but after my big DB purchase yesterday I better not... DH would kill me!

Oh what a bummer! I hope they can track your parcel or resend your items. I'm sure they'll have insurance for that sort of thing. Don't give up on cloth - every anticipated fluffy post is just as exciting or even more so than the last!!

Hmmmmmm, the Bitti Boo was a bit bulkier than the D'lish and didn't quite cover with an unstuffed Fuzzi, so will have to wait until my DB cover arrives to give it a try. On the other hand I had Leo try on the longies to see if they fit (which they did perfectly, even without a waist tie!) and he loved them so much he wouldn't take them off! He got really upset when I tried to get them off him so he ended up going to bed in them (unlanolized)

Awwww how cute Vic! I think I might ask my mum if she will knit me some. I will have to go and find a pattern, I'm sure there is a thread somewhere with a link.

Just to let you know - Becks from Ecobubs is absolutely fantastic and has always gone out of her way to help me out when I have ordered from her in the past.
Definitely give her another call if you suspect the naps have gone missing... did they come by courier or post? I don't know if yours as the same as ours but sometimes they put packages in very strange places!

http://www.tinybirdsorganics.com/organicwool/woolpants.html
The above link was the pattern I used. Click on the downloadable PDF file for full, printable instructions. I used the pattern using straight needles, instead of circular needles, and I made the largest size for Leo. In the instructions for knitting the main body part it says to knit 80 rows or until knitting reaches 10 inches - my 80 rows was bigger than 10 inches but I wanted to make sure that it was big enough to fit over a night nappy and last night it was on over a disposable and wasn't at all too long, so I'd recommend knitting the full 80 rows, rather than going by knitted length. I also added on a few extra rows at the bottom of the legs, before doing the ribbing, to allow for growth, as they can easily be folded up at the bottom if too long
I'm off to the wool shop this morning for some more wool to make another pair and will also pick up some lanolin to lanolise the ones I've already made so that Leo can wear them over his Bitti Boo

My DB package arrived today!!! They look gorgeous and the fitted nappy looks so lovely and soft. Talk about mega absorbancy though!!!!!! There are so many layers of mega hemp & bamboo I can't see how it could be outwet! DH laughed and said 'will we actually get that thing done up?'
Also, have my longies in a bucket lanolizing as I type - so nervous to actually try them out over a fitted nappy though. It seems like nothing has changed except they're sitting in a bucket of water! Wish me luck!

Yay my ecobubs striped wool pockets arrived but ..... one was not a colour I ordered so have had to send it back I rang and let them know and they have put the right one in the post today so hopefully it gets here sooner than the last ones!
The stripes are super cute though lets hope they work well too.

Oh you poor thing, you've had such bad luck with your order!!! This is not typical when ordering cloth nappies, I can assure you. You'll have to post a pic for us as I've always thought those stripey wool pockets look cute.

Aww, that sucks! I've had heaps of cloth nappy orders and only two ever gone wrong. (one the WAHM's 18 month old tossed the package under the seat, so it didn't get posted, and the other I got sent the wrong size prefolds) I hope it gets fixed quickly, but It's great to see you've not lost hope
