Alright, so this is day one of the cloth thing. DH got Luke up this morning so put a sposie on him... so got cloth nappy at 9am, just before bed. Slept 2 hours, so changed when got up and had pooed... 2nd nappy lasted 2 hours as well, ended with another poo. The 3rd nappy lasted an hour (he was asleep) and woke saturated... Not too sure where it went wrong, was wet all one side of his back... So now onto 4th nappy and we only have 5... and I desperately need some more microfibre inserts - they are on their way tho!!

But am enjoying it so far! Can totally see why people use cloth wipes, kinda defeats purpose a little when you have to get rid of pooey disposable wipe...

Am tempted - but better see if I can do this MCN thing for longer than one day!

I just got some flushable wipes. They're great! As good as the non-flushable ones I was using before and the same price!
Only trouble is I've only been able to find them online so far.
Makes life heaps easier just flushing them away with the poo's though, rather than having to chuck away yucky poo wipes.

The precious wipes in the green packet are flushable and available in supermarkets. I use those for the pooey nappies and then flush them

If you are after some more nappies I have some that I want to sell. PM me if you are interested.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

Well done on your first day! As for the leak, a few things you can check are: is the insert sitting flat inside the pocket, is everything tucked inside the nappy, is it done up snug enough?

As for cloth wipes, it took me a couple of months to switch after going with MCNs but now I'll NEVER go back to disposable wipes. I carry a small pack in my nappy bag for when out and about but I never use them at home. I always warm Leo's wipes up under the hot tap before changing his nappy - I think it must feel so much nicer than a cold disposable wipe. My favourite cloth wipes are Dandilionz terry & velour. I have been using the same set for over a year and they still look as good as new! They're $2.20 each from Green Beans - I have 15 and I've never run out.

We've just started using cloth wipes as well - it makes sense when you're washing all the nappies anyway. But DP thought of the idea to keep a thermos in Olivias room so we would always have warm water on hand overnight. Our hot tap takes forever to warm up so this works really well for us.

BTW, we just got some Dandelionz too and they are lovely.

I use cheeky wipes and they're great. Much better on their bums than harsh disposable wipes.

Yup I use cheeky wipes too. I find them more 'grippy' than diposeable wipes especially when dealing with a pooey bum. But I'm mean to poor old Rohann as we start off with warm water in the morning but it cools down as the day goes on - but I figure disposable wipes aren't overly warm either.

First week went pretty well!! I am getting sick of only having 5 so have ordered 10 more, plus some fuzzis off TM... so that will make it better!

Trouble is that he obviously loves pooing in them! So I am continually washing poo off... and I often forget to put liner in so that doesn't help...

But still going well
