A month ago the nurse said that Jack's teeth were probably moving around - that was fine I could deal with the grizzly boy, the runny poos etc.

Well now he's even worse, has the reddest cheeks and is constantly moving his tongue over his gums. I've had to crack out the bonjela just to ease the pain. I can now see the white bits under the bottom gum (middle) and his canines are more protruding. Please tell me that this isn't possible, I really hoped I'd have a few more months! And I feel so bad because as of next week Jack is being looked after by Dad every weekday (for a few weeks) and he's just constantly grizzly, chewing, dribbling and just wants bonjela! Is my wee boy just trying to be an over-achiever or is the nurse wrong?

I'd say he's an overachiever!! But some babies are born with teeth so really he could do better

You are lucky you can see white things. We had a horrible instance jsut now where Tom woke up from his predinner sleep inconsolable. Screaming, off his dinner (but not his dessert) and just miserable until I got the Pamol and bonjela out. Now he is fast asleep. but I cant see any teeth!

It doesn't sound like that nurse is wrong!! DD has the same problem, she started showing the signs at 3 months old and the teeth still haven't come up yet! Hopefully he will settle down but until then keep the bonjela, clothes and pamol handy!!

Best of luck!!

yup sounds like teeth jetts moved around lots then they would stop then move again, and then stop then they just appeared;P
massage the bonjella into the gums or even i read in peadiatric dentistry book at work, wet a cloth and squeeze oth the excess water and put it in the fridge.
bubs love to suck and chew on them, but make sure its not a fluffy cloth

good luck

I'd say murphy's law is in action Sounds like teething to me. At least you can take comfort in the fact that your Dad has gone through it with you so will have some idea what to expect.

Yeah sounds like teething. Daniel started showing those signs at 3 months and none actually popped through until 8 months!

We found getting a soft cloth, wetting it and freezing it was great. We just let him sit there and chew it

I'm convinced its teething now - we had the inconsolable thing tonight - took an hour of screaming (which he never does), wouldn't take a bottle, didn't even care about bonjela (which usually settles him), had to drug him up with pamol and then give him a bath. He's also started on solids as milk isn't satisfying him. What is with this child? Would he not just slow down for a while lol

is he wanting to feed all the time? sounds like it could be a growth spurt? best thing to do is to just go with the flow so to speak.

my daughter was around the same when all she wanted to do was feed feed feed..within a couple of days she was back to her normal feeding pattern.

No he doesn't want to feed all the time, just had a growth spurt last week. He slept an extra 2 hours after having his first feed of baby rice last night! He loved it! Still grizzly, but at least I got to sleep until 6am. Man its hard going from getting 8 hours sleep to 6!

So we'll just keep him on the bonjela for the teeth and the baby rice. Had to give him pamol last night but he's better today, just that whingy grizzling thing that really bugs me lol
