Man, now I remeber why I was so addicted with Oh baby,
I have not been on in ages and today I have now posted 2 topics, you are all so helpful,
So anyway I want to know what to do, Ella just wont sleep in the day unless in her swing or in the car. She sometimes falls asleeo in my arms after feeding but when I put her down she screams like a banchee.
What to do, please help

Heya
Is she still sleeping through the night? Some babies need more sleep than others, every time I see her she is happy as larry, does she show tired signs through the day?
T only lasts 2 hours or so before he starts moaning, rubbing his eyes, pulling on his ear. He makes it very obvious when he wants to go to bed. I haven't ever noticed Rosie doing any of that? I hate to say it but maybe the 12 hours she gets at night is enough, she has a morning sleep though a?

OMG I wrote a whole reply and ella pressed a button and it deleted it all
Yeah she is sleeping through, sometimes just wakes up once if teething.
she doesnt show tired signs but might get wingy - maybe she just bored with me
but she will sleep in her swing for an hour or so twice a day

Sunnyhoney started a thread last week on a similar topic - I think in the end she got some good advice from plunket and her DD is back to sleeping well again - might be worth checking out that thread or ringing plunketline.

maybe it could be a comfort thing? i dont have personal expierence as my boys loved day sleeps till they had to go to school! A lady i know had the same issue with her child, i think it was a matter of time and persaverance (sp?) and the wee man was back to sleep in his cot, not the car, or buggy, or mummy's arms.
Cant beat that good ol' swinging motion, it'd rock me to sleep too.

maybe getting whingy is her tired sign then, babies don't really get bored and she is good at exploring so I doubt that. Maybe try putting her to bed as soon as she whinges and not keeping her up for so long during the day, As turk13 says it will probably take some tough love and perseverance to get her used to sleeping in her cot during the day again as she has formed herself a new routine

maybe for her the movement is her sleep association and when you go to put her down she is not in a deep enough sleep and she wakes with the change. Jack was similar and would only sleep if bf to sleep, in the car or pushchair. We have changed this now using Pinky McKay's book "Sleeping like a baby" which explained all about sleep associations and how to change them. This is especially good if you don't like CC or CIO
