Ok, so its Easter and I dont want to bother my MW and the docs are closed so I am self diagnosing with the help of my mate google!

I think I had spotting....but actually only when I wiped and it was kinda pinky/orangey mucuousy. I did have one pinky brown smudge but otherwise it is mainly when I wipe.

I had a REALLY upset tum last night...gassy, diarhoea and crampy but crampy in the tummy and bowel (i'm pretty sure)

Now I have a dull ache in my lower abdomen....kinda like your bladder feels when you have held on for too long. And I am peeing heaps but not peeing much (but I am PG). No pain whilst peeing.

But....I'm wondering if the blood may be coming from my urine and that I may have a UTI which would be why my bladder area hurts and my lower back at the sides. But can you get it without the burning stinging when you pee as I definately dont have that. Nor do I have that feeling of not quite emptying.

I have put on a panty liner and not getting blood on that so to speak but almost like a water mark (TMI) which is why I wonder if it is getting diluted.

Of course, the pain could still be bowel pain. It doesnt feel like period pain so I think the paranoia is subsiding a little.

What do the Ohbaby medicals think? I am thinking of ringing my MW on Tuesday if it hasnt got better and asking for a test for UTI and also for a dating scan as I have had 3 instances of bleeding/spotting since my last AF. But I am wondering if I should be going to A/Hs if it is a UTI? But A/Hs is about 50km away.

I had a UTI with Spencer, at about 20 weeks though, I had no stinging or feeling that I needed to go all the time (except normal pg needing to go all the time feeling). The first clue I had was a strange cramping twinge, mw did test and I had a UTI, by the time the test came back the pain had moved to my back because the infection had spread to my kidneys. Having relaxin in the body causes an increased risk of UTI and it also stops the normal symptoms of stinging etc, which is why they like to keep an eye on whether you have them or not. It is poss that the blood could be coming from your bladder, could you pee in a pot and have a look?
It is quite safe to take ural which supermarkets normally sell. (check other brands though as some are not ok when pregnant).

Also ringing your mw at 4.30pm on a saturday isn't that bad and might be a good idea. She may want to prescribe some antibiotics.

Just phoned the local med centre and their message says there is a drop in clinic Tomorrow morning so I will go down then.

Just went to loo and no blood on liner but def when wiped. and pain in back has got worse. I guess I will drink heaps of water (I'm bad at that as our water is gross) and take ural and panadol if I get a temp and we will see in the morning.

Well I rang healthline and they said I should go to Docs tonight so I called the duty Doc and she came down to meet me at the clinic. Def blood in urine but not sure on infection. So had discussion about pros and cons of Abs and she decided we should wait and see. But just before I left she took my temp and we were both shocked to find it was 38.2! So that changed everything and I am now on Abs and had to get the pharmacist in as well. All in all, I am pretty impressedwith our towns health services. and the cost? $50 for doc and $3 for meds. Not bad!

Is there any point in bothering her though? If it is a MC you cant stop it and if it isnt then there is nothing to worry about right now.

Would it give you peace of mind to talk to her? If so, I say call her but if you think that you'll cope OK whatever happens over the next day or so then don't. I'd probably call if it were me coz I'm a stresser lol.

Best of luck, am thinking of you and hoping it all works out. The abs are definitely a good idea if you have a temp coz they will kee infection at bay whatever the source of the infection.

I rang the GP again. She is so lovely. She will see me tomorrow but I am to ring her tonight at anytime if a) I am worried or b) I bleed with severe pain (ectopic I guess) .

Just been reading old posts and read about Jennz bleeds and feel more optimistic!

Dont really have pain other than mildly gassy feeling.

Lots of peeps get random bleeding throughout pregnancy. Just a side note though I doubt it would be ectopic if you think you are 6 weeks, mine was severe pain before I was even 5 weeks so hope that makes you feel a little better!
