He is just too little to do what he wants! My folks bought him a ride on truck for Xmas. He can only just touch the ground with his tippee toes when he's on it but he LOVES it!!!!

Now that he can crawl, he wants to play with his truck and .....to stand up!!! So he keeps pulling himself up and it is on wheels so it moves and he falls over and scrathes his head, bumps his head etc.

Lots of tears, lots of frustration. Would I be a mean mummy to hide it away for a couple of months till he is a bit bigger??? It has happily sat in the corner looking pretty (yes, trucks can look pretty) since Xmas and only comes out when we play with him...but now he crawls straight to it!

At first when we gave Ella her wagon she did exactly the same thing (at 8 months)- because there are no breaks on it, she just fell over everytime she tried to stand up on. At first whenever she played with it we just held on it so it didn't run away from her, but she did learn pretty quickly what it was all about and how to control it. Maybe put it away for now and bring it back in a months time and see how he goes then.

I agree... crawling at 6 months sounds early to me too... Alex was 10 months!! (He was late doing everything!!)

I would put it away too. I still have toys which are put away that Alex was given when he was one, because he is still too little to play with them, or would just break them. Might as well save them till he can enjoy them!

Well I was about to put it away but forgot. Was woken this morning by   HONK HONK as Tom (and Daddy) were driving down the hall to me. Oh the smile on his face!!   Apparently he crawled over to it and pulled it out and over to DH!!! Clever boy!

Yes, crawling.....he can now hunt me down and find me! He follows me around the house and looks very pleased when he locates me. It is kinda cute.

Haleigh learnt to walk with her ride on truck, at 5months she was trying to pull herself up on it and by 7months was scooting all over the place with it then months later let go and it was all over from there lol

James sees my bedroom door open and he's off lol, thats the only room he gets excited about going into cause he knows he's not allowed in there haha
If Im not in his view he will hunt me down, boo is the same though

and BOTH my kids were crawling by 4/ 5months so 6months to me isnt early, both walking around furniture by 6/ 7months, and Haleigh was solo by 9.5months.
