It's about 4-6 weeks depending on the urgency, when they found out I had stopped taking my meds they pushed my appt right forward.
But they get in touch almost immediately after they get the referral so you have phone support.

If MMH can't see you you will be forwarded to the crises team and have meetings with them till MMH can take you, and they are just lovely too!

So my appointment with MMH is tomorrow morning, and given that I have just spent the night in Auckland hospital being poked and prodded, and that I feel a lot like cr*p, I rang them to say I wasnt well enough to go and could I reschedule.
I was informed that as it was my first appointment, they dont reschedule (as they dont have the appointments available) and that I will prob have to go back on waiting list for an appointment (up to 6 weeks). OMG - I am shell shocked. I am now waiting for them to ring me back to tell me what they CAN do for me, they suggested a home visit, but like I tried to explain, I have been awake for 2 days, I am really sick with a resiptory infection, whether the appointment is at home or at the hospital, I still wont be up to it tomorrow. Not impressed with the attitude of the lady I talked to.

Hope you are ok sam. I had the crisis team call me when I had been home for a week after ethan was born. I think they thought I was suicidal but I wasn't just really down. Not an easy time. Thinking of you

I've been lucky, they brought the initial appt forward for me coz I was struggling and then when I rang my MMH nurse on Mon she arranged an urgent appt for Fri (tomorrow).

I spoke to a nurse yesterday who said that they would try to get someone from next weeks appointment list to swap with me and that she would ring me back. Didnt hear from anyone today. Have to say I understand that they are busy, but it all just seems a bit slack arsed to me.
