It took about 6 weeks for me to stop leaking pretty badly. I think its very individual though.

stacey's right, its a very individual thing... i hardly leaked at all with my first and wasnt leaking at all by about 2-3 weeks.
but if he has only just started latching properly from one side then i think you will still be up in the air for a bit...

Yeah about 6 weeks- thats why they recommend not introducing pumping or anything like that until 6 weeks as thats how long it takes for most peoples supply to regulate

Yeah most people do- its just what the BFing guidelines recommend. Hopefully it will settle down for you soon!

breast pads are your friends!!! I found the pigeon ones the best initially and then I moved onto the tommee tippee reusable ones (but on a good day I could leak through those). Black tops are also good.

Hey Kawwww, with the collectors I found it best to wear a nipple pad positioned under the cup (tucked into bottom of bra) that caught all the over spill. It will calm down, just hang in there.

Well for a while there I didn't need to worry about breast pads, but in the last few weeks the leaking is back with a vengeance. I don't know why, but I do know that I have to remember to wear breast pads again!

I went through a phase a few weeks ago of leaking again but it settled back down quickly. Mind you, one leaked the other day for no good reason.
kawwwww as well as black tops....loose tops are good too...and pull your top away from the other boob when you feed on one.

I had to wear breast pads the whole time I bf, and each time Isla dropped a feed I would full up and leak more again. But the spontanous squitring in the shower etc took about 6 weeks to settle.
I still have milk now and Isla is 16 months old, and hasnt been bf since 10 months.

I still wear breast pads as the boob I'm not feeding from leaks in sympathy and I also have random leakage occasionally. The really bad stuff that you're experiencing eased off about 4 weeks for me.
It will sort itself out. But I know how frustrating it is.

6 weeks?! Sorry KA, but I was wearing pads and a bra to bed at night for months. It wasnt the awful full on spraying everywhere leaking the whole time, but definitely leaking. After a couple of months I switched to reusable pads, but before that they just werent absorbant enough!
