Topic: early preggy pains Posted: 29 January 2008 at 10:14am |
I'm so paranoid at the moment - I've had a dull ache in my tummy for the past couple of days (no bleeding but I'm scared that when I wipe, there might be blood), I can't remember if I had this when I was pregnant last year or not - maybe I'm just looking into every little twinge my body has at the moment but is this normal? Its just like very light cramping (I get it far worse when I get AF).
I'm only really early on, so hoping its just a settling into preggy thing!

Yep I had weird little crampy pains early on aswell and like you I was So scared I was going to see blood again(I m/c in July last year).
I think its just the baby getting comfy in there Your uterus getting used to having something burrowed in it and stuff.

Only pain that accompanies blood is a bad sign Emma. Normally the pain would be real bad too. I was the opposite of you - bleeding but no pain and that alone freaked me out until after my 20wk scan.
Still have you in my thoughts daily.

I had exactly the same - dull ache - quickly realised that it was my body adjusting to what was going on. I still get small cramps/twinges now.

Yup, I've had it with every pregnancy, with the gremlins it was so bad I convinced myself it was an ectopic pregnancy (pain was worse on one side). The funny thing is I think the more I thought about it, the more it hurt, almost like it was psychosomatic

The pain has got a wee bit worse this afternoon - so I have just taken some paracetomal to try and 'disguise' it.
Had acupuncture today and she said my pulse was nice and strong (compared to what it has been in other times) and thats a good preggy sign.
I've just rung up the doctors and left a message to see if they can tell me my hcg levels from yesterday - I was going to wait til my bloods tomorrow - but I'm a nervous wreck thinking I'm going to lose this baby too.

Emma, I am not one to talk as I stress all the time, but I have heard it's completely normal and nothing to worry about unless there is both pain and bleeding.
Easier said than done, but try to relax. And if you can't relax, PM me and we'll compare stress lists!!!

I missed your BFP post - gosh I've only been away from the forums for a day and seems soooo much is happening!
HUGE HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!
And as others have said, little pains are normal early on due to stretching etc - just relax & enjoy!

Oh My Gosh you're pregnant?!? CONGRATULATIONS!!! That's awesome news. And about those pains - I spent the first part of my pregnancy with stretching pains... it was just my uterus being stretched and wasn't a complication at all. All the best for your next HCG
