    Posted: 25 January 2008 at 8:59am
Hi all,

Can anyone suggest any snack ideas which might satisfy my hunger pangs? The last few days I have felt sooooooo hungry and nothing I eat seems to satify me - it's driving me nuts! Perhaps baby is having a growth spurt at the moment.

Oh man I know this feeling, I get like that some days where Im hungry but nothing will suffise! I find eating some cereal and having a tea or coffee helps, fruit does nothing when Im having a hunger pang!
What about like cheese on crackers with some tomato? Or maybe....a few biscuits and a banana?
I just eat heaps until I feel full LOL, Im naughty.

I love having cheese on toast (usually with tomato relish), or I have fruit and yoghurt, and I always follow all my snacks up with a glass of milk or cold milo which I think helps to fill me up!!

Is there anything you crave? I found that this time around, unless I have some meat with my meal I'll keep being hungry. I've had a HUGE craving for all things meaty and chicken and fish don't ususally cut it.
I have found the following work for me (depending on what I crave) - cereal with milk; cheese & fruit; sandwiches esp ones stuffed with meat; eggs on toast; soy beans; nuts.

Fruit, fruit, fruit for me - grapes, apricots, mango, peaches, I am craving fruit.
And of course anything with Best Foods mayonnaise, preferably a salad and cheese wrap...

I have actually gone off peanut butter since getting pregnant but that is one thing that I find really wards off the hunger. A lot of people are afraid of it because it is high in fat, but most of it is good fat and there is protein there too. I like mixing it into porridge, spreading it on toast or crackers, or smearing it on fruit slices such as apple or banana. Oh and it's good with raisins too. If you can find 'natural peanut butter' (has no added sugar or oils) then even better.
