- Change from a cot to a 'real' bed?

- Stop using the highchair and start using a normal chair?

- Stop using a buggy/stroller? (ie, kid walks everywhere)

What sorts of ages does this stuff happen at?

We're in the process at the moment of going from a cot to a real bed, although we've only just started by taking the side off the cot first - my daughter is 19 months. We still use a high chair for most meals, but she will sometimes sit at her little table and chairs for morning / afternoon tea. As for a stroller we are using it a bit less now, but it depends on where we are going etc as to how much time she will spend walking on her own.

Jake went into a big bed of his own accord shortly before he was 2. I had planned on having him in a cot beyond then (suited me to have him on a cot where I knew where he was, lol) but he really wanted to go in the big bed and we have never had a falling out problem.

Most of the time he sits at the table, and has done since about 2, but he often asks to sit in the high chair, so we let him if he wants to, keeps the mess contained, lol, and stops the up and down from the table lark

I still use a stroller/buggy. Ihave an unbrella stroller that I use if its just him, but most of the time he goes in his toddler seat on the buggy. hE likes it, and that way, it stops him form running off and stops the tired legs thing. Once they get to about 18 months it is hard to keep them from taking off or throwing down in a tanty, which makes trips into the shops difficult. I do have a harness, and have used it a couple of times on shirt trips when bub is inthe front pack, and it works well, but not that good for long shopping trips.

We haven't done any of those yet. The plan is to
Change from a cot to a 'real' bed? At around 3-4 years, our cot turns to bed anyway so why hurry?

- Stop using the highchair and start using a normal chair? When she can see the table while sitting on a chair and I'm not nerveous she'll topple down - probably 2-3 years old.

- Stop using a buggy/stroller? (ie, kid walks everywhere) Gosh, again probably 2-3 years old but I still think we'll have a stroller just in case

- Change from a cot to a 'real' bed?
H: 17mos, B was on the way!
B: 15mos, she learned how to climb up the bars
K: Probably will be 15mos again because she is quite tall - the side is up to her armpits.
(We don't have an adjustable base)

- Stop using the highchair and start using a normal chair?
H: 20mos in preparation for B needing it, but that was a silly idea and far too early: she was short and B didn't need it for nearly 6mos!
B: 22mos, she wanted to be a "big girl" but I also got her out of the high chair for my own sake at that stage. (I was recovering from a broken foot and wanted to cut down my home help hours but couldn't carry her in/out of highchair myself.)
- Stop using a buggy/stroller? (ie, kid walks everywhere)
H is just out of the stroller in the last couple of months. She still gets a ride at times when one of the younger ones is not with us or is being carried. B will sometimes walk but (as with H at her age) tires easily after a certain distance. So this one has a huge bearing on how far/often you walk.
