Topic: m/c or just lateish? (tmi) Posted: 22 January 2008 at 2:58pm |
Sorry i really didnt know what to put in the title!
I just need somewhere to 'talk' about this, as no one at home to talk to right now lol
I had a m/c 22nd dec...i was only about 4.5 - 5 weeks and it was over within a few days.
I don't know how to work out if/when af will arrive. I had a mc a few years ago, but got af back about 28 days later...i also didnt know as much about all this back then lol
Anyway...if i was 28 days...today i am 3 days late and still no af...but...a couple times i have gone to the loo and wiped (sorry tmi) and there is a minut amount of mucousy blood....very very minut! What could this mean? could i possibly got pregnant and am having another mc? this is what happend last month in reference to the mucous stuff.
Should i go to my doc and get bloods? yesterday a urine test was negative.....
I just dont know what i should do....sorry, i know you'll prob say go to doc,,but as i said, i guess i just needed to talk (write) and work it out..
Thanks for listening :)

You poor thing, hugs Its obviously worrying you a lot, so do what is most likely to set your mind at ease - if thats seeing a Dr, then do that.

I agree with Kellz, it can't hurt to see your doc, there could be many reasons for the small amount of blood, including implantation bleeding (so I hear). If you were having a miscarriage then shouldn't your urine test still read that you are positive? It can also be quite normal to have blood containing mucous at the start of a menstrual cycle so it may be nothing but a late period.
Just rest and do what makes you feel better.

Def see your doc? Have you done a pregnancy test? I don't want to cause undue excitement but I had that with Elle, 3 days after AF was due and they say it was most probably related to implantation.

Thanks ladies. I guess i do know that i need to go to the doctor. I think i just needed to get if off my chest lol.
Its almost like a discharge, not always red, sometimes brown. Gee us females deal with a lot lol.
Yip ive taken tests Fiona, just hpt (quickcard which docs use) and up until yesterday, neg. But havent done one today.
I'm just scared its a m/c so that would be why i want bloods done.
I think i'll head off to the doctors in the morning.
Thanks everyone :)

It could also be your system just settling down after the m/c. My first post-m/c cycle was slightly longer than usual.
Best of luck at the doctors, hope you can get some answers!

I agree with Emma - it is likely just that your system has been taken a bit by surprise and is just settling down. Our bodies are such complicated entities!!
On the plus side, it could be a pregnancy - it's so hard to tell. I hope your doc has answers for you.
Hugs!

I also agree with Emma, especially since you don't have a BFP. Sorry, my cycle took 2 months to settle down after m/c

I dont want to get your hopes up but this is what happened to me.
I had a m/c in July last year, then got pregnant again in September, then when I wiped once it was like a icky mucus with pink blood in it, I freaked out cos I thought I was having another m/c, then it turned to brown and went away after a week or so. I had bloods done and a scan and everything was ok. I was 6 weeks pregnant when this happened.
So my bleeding was inplantation spotting.
Definitly get bloods done, cos they will pick up if your pregnant or not, and they will be able to tell from the hcg level if the pregnancy is viable as it has to double every two days.
Good Luck!
