Congrats! Remember it's double the joy!

I'm expecting fraternal twin girls any week now.
I have a twin sister also so didn't come as much of a shock to me.

Remember 1 baby already takes up 100% of your time so how can 2 babies take up any more. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it!

Also you'll be entitled to 240 hours ( I think) of home help as you'll have 3 under 3.

Let me know what she says! Tell her, I heard it from a woman who had 7 kids, 1 singleton and 3 sets of twins, so must be true, mustn't it?

im a twin mum to be. im almost 26 weeks preggy with identical twin girls. and i have a 3 yr girl too.

with the home help thing its if you have 3 under 5 the guy from winz told me.

did you just find out? we found out at my 12 weeks scan and i spent the whole afternoon walking around hamilton saying that there was no way on earth i was pushing two babies out. but once i sorta got past that i settled down adn decided that when they come i will just take it one day at a time.

i think there are a few twin mummies around actually.

Can I thread-jack on behalf of a friend? When do you know for certain that there is 'only' one? ie I know some twin mummies have scans at 7 weeks and see one baby, then again at 12 weeks and see two bubbas. So when is 'safe' to say yes, only one?

Congrats Annie! Twins really are double the joy - once you get thru the icky sicky first few months. I wouldn't trade mine for the world, watching them play peekaboo together just melts my heart.

Busymum - I had a scan at 6 weeks and there was only one bub, then again at 9 weeks and there were two. It depends if they are mono- or di-amniotic, di twins are much easier to spot as there are two separate sacs, mono twins you have to wait until the babies are big enough to see them inside the single sac. By 8 weeks you should have a pretty clear view.

I had no freaking idea, you could have blown me over with a feather when the lady said there were two in there! I didn't even have a single suspicion.

heheh! I've read your pregnancy story and love the bit where Maya tells her teacher you're having twins and going to die

I found out at my 12 week scan, spent a lot of that duration staring at the ceiling.
However saying that, a little part of me always knew there were 2 in there. Had no physical reason to think so as I'd no previous pregnancy to compare to.
DH however, it took him about a day to recover from the shock

ellah-im 21 and i will have a 3 yr old girl and new born twins. my advice so far(im still preggy) is just let it sink it. i went thru the whole what are we gonna do as no close family or really close friends live near by. but i finally just went-we will find a way to cope. even if my housework doesnt get done until the weekends its ok. i want my kids to remember having fun in a messy house, then not having fun with their mummy but living in a spotless house.

Congrats twin mummies. I haven't had twins but would absolutely love to. It is in my family so eagerly awaiting scan.
Twins are hard work yes but they are so worth it. Try to stay relaxed.
