Topic: having a fall Posted: 23 November 2007 at 4:27pm |
Hi girls
Ive just found out im pregnant and a bit paranoid after my missed mc in July! I just sliped over in my jandels and landed on my knees and have grazed them, and am paranoid now that if could have affected the baby? can having a small fall be detrimental in anyway?

Probably not at the stage you're at as the baby would be really well insulated. I'd just keep it in mind and if you get any pains, discharge or anything you think is out of the ordinary then call your MW. If you want to then you could call them anyway - that's what they're there for.
I had a fall 2 weeks ago - knees then bum on Queen Street (very graceful) and no ill effects except a bruised ego.

I think if it is only if you fall on your tummy region that it is dangerous.
I myself went A over T on the road when I was about 8weeks with Ethan.. Man I really hurt myself, grazes like you.. but i was ok, just a bit shaken.
to you and sending sticky baby vibes your way

I fell when I was about 5mos pg with Kryssi and I was really worried. I had had a m/c just before her as well. I called my mw and she asked a few questions and reassured me - go on, that's what she's for

I would say you'll be just fine, hun
Bean is all snuggly and nestled into your uterus lining. Very secure!
But definitely call your mw with any concerns, weather you get any pains or not. Just for peace of mind.
My Mum fell right on top of me when she was 8 and a half months pregnant. And I'm fine. (DH would argue that point!)

thanks ladies, just rang the midwife as paranoid as i am and she said she didnt think that it would cause any harm at this stage only if it was a blow to the tummy area, lucky my knees took the impact gives you a fright though! may just rest up for the rest of the arvo....at least I got to go home early because of it!

I fell down the stairs at home when I was 14 weeks preg with Benjy.
I landed on my hip/tummy and was really worried but he was fine.
Like the others have said, your little bean is still really well protected in there and seeing as your poor knees took the brunt of the impact, chances are bubba didn't feel a thing.
Just watch for sharp pains in the tummy and/or bleeding.

Yeah, beanny should still be behind your pelvic bone at this stage so you should be fine.
