Topic: White dots....? Posted: 04 September 2007 at 1:41pm |
Kylah has some white dots on the roof of her mouth, iv tried to wipe them away so its not milk.. she is VERY unsettled (been awake all day) and isnt feeding very well..
Like feed for 5 min then pull off not wanting to relatch then ten min later shes wanting more... VERY frustrating
i was thinking maybe its thrush? We have a doctors appointment today..
Any other ideas?
EDIT: Oh and i get a shooting pain up the boob shes feeding on..

Oh don't feel so bad, if you had called the docs yesterday they probably would have been full up! You could give her pamol in the meantime if you have some, but I guess you'll be there soon.

We went to the doctor.. it was thrush so she has given me some cream and Kylah some cherry flavoured drops! She hates them but they should do the trick :)

So do i she has been so unsettled today, she only slept for 3 x 30min blocks.. Shes just gone down now and has been asleep for about 45 min so hopefully the drops start working soon.
Is it free for babies scripts?
Cos it only cost me for mine, oh and $5 for Kylah to see the doctor.

I think all scripts for under 6's are free. Most doctors are free (for that age range) or at least mostly subsidised (as in your case). I wasn't told that before I had kids and remember feeling soooo relieved when I put 2 & 2 together eventually!

Not all baby scripts are free, if they are full subsidised then yes they are but sometimes there is a part charge. The last thing I had to get Josh cost me 70c.

I hope Kylah is feeling better Poor wee girl. Still at least you have something for it now so hopefully it will clear up soon.
BTW, I must changed doctors as they were charging me $15 to see Sam. It should be free for under 6, but some cheeky doctors are still charging between $5-$20 dollars!

Awe poor wee blossom having thrush - hope it clears real quick now with the drops.
It's $10 for my kids at our Dr's. TOTAL RIPOFF!! So often I could diagonose my child's condition anyway, just need a script to help clear it (i.e. earache/tonsilitis etc) so I'm in there for all of 2 mins. It's gradually gone up over the past couple of years, since having Rico it's gone up from $2.00.
- sorry - totally off topic I know .

lol quite all right.. yeah i thought it was thrush cos i googled the symptoms so i just needed something to clear it.. My script cost $15! She classed mine as maternity otherwise i would have been paying to see doc.
Isnt it funny, it was free to see her when bub was in my belly but not now.. guess shes a physical person now not a bump so hence the $5 charge.
