My wee poppet was 1 today! Sadly she spent much of the day grizzling. She's being a bit odd...grizzling more than usual, not wanting to eat(except cupcakes with blue icing ;)), not wanting to breastfed, hitting her head with her hand
+ pulling her hair. She's also sleeping lots...if I put her down at about 3.30 for a nap, I end up having to wake her at about 8 for her dinner etc as she just keeps sleeping.

I can't see any signs of more teeth coming through and she hasn't had any form of temp etc...any ideas?

Poor wee poppet!!! I don't have any advice for you sorry - but wanted to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY GABRIELLE.

Have you taken her to see the Doc lately?? Might be worth a trip. Hope she gets better soon

Maybe an ear infection? I noticed Ashleigh pulling her hair above her ear when she had one...

ETA: Happy Birthday Elle

If she's grizzling and sleeping lots, it makes me wonder if she's coming down with something. How's her temp?

If I remember correctly all 4 1y/o's birthdays that I have attended this year have all had funny temps and not feeling well then sprouted some teeth! I did read your post and you said you can't see anything but sometimes the hidden ones are the ones that give bubbahs the most grief.

Might visit the doc on tues just in case. Everytime we go we get the all clear but better to be safe than sorry. She started hitting her head occassionally on Tues and I wondered about ears / headaches / teeth. She has 4 teeth so far

4 teeth that's not much, I was about to suggest checking molars since that's what my girls were cutting then.

Not that timing matters, I was just surprised (don't get worried about how many teeth she does/doesn't have lol).

Really, most of her friends have between 2 and 4 interestingly enough.

She could be getting the ones next to the middles ones (excuse the lack of proper terminology...it's been a busy weekend).

I don't like the way she hits her head with her hand + pulls her hair...anyone come across that before? (and no, she is most definately not autistic!!)

I would suggested going to Dr as it could be a sign of an ear infection if she is pulling near her ears.

OT: at 1 yr you wouldn't know if she was Austic or not

Some kids don't have any teeth at 1 years so 4 is around normal. Just some kids get more sooner (like miss Brooke she had 13 before she was 1)

Addison has always rubbed/hit her head and eyes when she is drinking a bottle, not sure whats up with that but anyway.... my guess would be either teeth or ear infection though if she doesnt have a temp i would lean towards teeth but might aswell go to the docs if your still not happy tomorrow. Oh and heaps of kids in my coffee group have around that many teeth. Addison sprouted hers early and has had 11 since she was about 9mnths i think.
oh and big happy birthday!

PS. Maybe she's missing her poor poxy, spotty gremlin friends.
And no Deb, the gremlins haven't seen Elle since before we went to Oz. I keep sneaking over to Fiona's without them

DD is nearly one and only has two teeth. She hits her head when she gets upset and also rubs/pulls at her ear when tired. The number of times I've been to the doctor convinced she has an ear infection, only to be given the all clear! So you're not alone on that one.

If you're worried, go see the doc. That's what they're there for. Hopefully you'll see some shiny new teeth soon and the mystery will be solved.

maybe it was too much sugar from the blue cupcakes if not the pox.

Hehehe Anastasia used to hit her head - on the floor/wall/concrete (anything hard) when she was upset, not so much now.
The ear pulling - lol she pulls at mine or mums ear(whoever is holding her) when she gets tired!!

Firstly (and most importantly!)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
Maybe she's not handling the pressures of getting older? LOL

Caitlin STILL only has the 2 bottom front teeth (although looks like all 4 top front teeth are pushing through at the same time my poor bubba!)

She also has started smacking herself around the head (I swear I don't know where she gets that from! lol), pulling her hair and fiddles with her ears when she's tired.

So, judging from the other posts all that is normal-ish

The long sleeps suggest to me (if all clear is given health-wise) perhaps a growth spurt? Caitlin did this a couple of months ago and grew 2cms in a month! Even the Plunket Nurse was surprised

I just had a thought, if you're not feeling well today, maybe Miss Elle had a funny tummy yesterday?

She's been a bit off for about a week though.

I am mega sick today :(...if I have a bug / some kind of food poisoning, will it pass through my milk?
