So far am really not enjoying pregnancy. I am 11 weeks tomorrow. This week I ahve just started to feel better and get no morning sickness, but now my pelvis (left sacro-iliac joint which is your posterior pelvis) is really playing up. I was having a few issues with it before I got preggy, but it has gotten a lot worse.

Last night it woke me up when I wanted to roll over. Then when I got up to go toilet I could only shuffle and couldnt sit down properly - had to kind of hold myself up over toilet and my pelvis did a huge clunk as I bent down. Same this morning, could only shuffle around and no bending or sitting. Managed to get in the shower with some help and it has been a bit better since. Luckily I already had a physio appointment for this morning. Have had to send Hannah off to Grans cos I cant lift her or get on the floor to change her etc. Another reason to add to my list of only have two kids! I am quite worried now about how bad this is going to get, given it is still so early...

Anyway, just needed to have a good moan about it all. m off to physio soon.

Big hugs Aimee, I hope the physio can give you some relief. I had major troubles with my SP joint while I was pregnant with Maya, not so much with the gremlins.
On the bright side, I'm glad that the ms is starting to ease.

It was so weird being a patient (I am a physio and worked there until a few months ago)!! She was running late and every person that walked through the waiting area knew me. "Are you a patient today?" everyone asked! And the other patient who arrived I knew as well! Ha ha, the joys of a small town

Anyway, I got some temporary relief and she gave me some different exercises which feel so good. And utrasound and some mobilisations Still pretty sore but better than before. Am sitting here eating chocolate while I am childless, making the most of it!

Thanks for indulging me with sympathy everyone, it was just what I needed

Hey Chick

Thought id post as iv had the same problem since about 16 weeks, mine has only just gone away in the last two weeks, it got to a point i couldnt walk and would bring tears to my eyes.. exactly the same joint. The only thing i can suggest is take panadol every 6 hours, if you wake up in the night take it also.. as long as its in the 4-6 hours. That way your not waiting for the pain to come back before your taking it again. Also Arnica capsules for joint pain.

Sorry im not much help but i know EXACTLY what it feels like.

Hey, I have had this problem since I was around 12 weeks, to the point where some days I can't even put any pressure on my legs for fear of falling over. I have actually got it in both sides now, and some days it's just too painful for me to walk. Today I'm sitting here with a throbbing tail bone, and my left side feels like it's got forks being dug into my side.

My suggestion is to keep up with the physio. Change the way you do things.

EG: In bed wear satin pj's (particularly bottoms). These will help you roll over. It really does work.
Try not to sleep on the affected side...
Have baths to ease the pain.
As much as you want to favour that side, try not too. If you work in front of a computer get a foot stool.

That's all I can think of right now... I so know how you feel, mine has got increasingly worse and I've got to the point where I just block the pain out. I had this same problem with my other two kids, but no where near as bad.

Thanks. I think mine is lots worse this time as I have a 15kg toddler to lug around! I have stopped trying to lift her and now bend down to her when she needs cuddles etc and am trying to get her to climb into her carseat by herself. Its just so unfair, how when one thing stops, something else happens!

Does Hannah know you are pregnant? I got out of carrying Andrew as I told him that mummy had a baby in her tummy and it was too hard to carry him. After a while he clicked and didn't ask to be carried. But good to hear you got a bit of relief.
I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!
